Red Bull Homestand Begins

The New York Red Bulls (1-4-2, 5 pts) will start a three-match homestand and five of their next six games at Red Bull Arena, beginning with FC Cincinnati (2-4-2, 8 pts) on Saturday. Opening kick is slated for 7 p.m. ET with coverage on MSG, MSG Go and New York Red Bulls Radio on TuneIn.

Coverage on MSG begins at 6:30 p.m. ET with Red Bulls Game Night. Steve Cangialosi will have the primary play-by-play responsibilities and will be alongside Shep Messing and Michelle Gingras.

New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 6 p.m. ET with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Honda, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley. Ernesto Motta will have the Spanish play-by-play, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The first and last time these two teams met up was in the 2017 U.S. Open Cup Semifinals at Nippert Stadium on August 15.

Bradley Wright-Phillips hit a brace to lead a heroic three-goal comeback and New York advanced to their first U.S. Open Cup Final since 2003 with a 3-2 extra-time win. Substitute Gonzalo Veron began the comeback with an opportunistic 75th-minute goal to cut New York's deficit to 2-1. Wright-Phillips then went to work in the air, leveling off Tyler Adams' cross in the 78th minute before sending his looping header off Sal Zizzo's cross inside goalkeeper Mitch Hildebrandt's far post 11 minutes into extra time.

New York begins their longest stretch at Red Bull Arena on Saturday, playing five matches over a 26-day stretch. The Red Bulls have accumulated the best home record with the most wins, 99, and points, 328, since Red Bull Arena opened in 2010. New York is 10-3 in the last 13 matches at Red Bull Arena across all competitions and have outscored their opponents, 21-6, during the stretch.

Bradley Wright-Phillips is looking to knock off the remaining teams on his list to join a select few who have scored against every current team in MLS. BWP has faced 23 MLS teams and has scored against 19 of them. The four remaining teams on Wright-Phillips' list is both teams from Los Angeles (Galaxy & LAFC), Real Salt Lake and expansion-side FC Cincinnati, a team that he scored twice against in the U.S. Open Cup Semifinal when they were in USL.

New York continues their three-match homestand on Saturday, May 4 against LA Galaxy. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m. ET with coverage on ESPN, ESPN+ and New York Red Bulls Radio on TuneIn.
