He should have known better, sacrificed his loyal families to accede to the needs of Jerome, who's only in it to get his daughter in the right soccer circle. But in order for that to happen, JF needed to displace his skilled girls making them the 2nd class citizens at Surf. Then tryouts came around and it was too late as girls all knew who was getting moved before it happened. Parents were butt hurt and the hardworking girls and the ones with all the skills made their positions very clear in the weeks coming up to the end of the season. That team went to the coveted Delco tourny without a full team. Girls refused to go to team games and instead rather play for their local LIJSL teams. He really made a mess of it all. We are glad to not be part of that debacle. Hopefully he pays for his mistake and doesn't come to LISC looking for work after that FAF team get's their azzzes handed to them and Surf corporate starts knocking on his door for an explanation. Either way...good riddance.

At the end of the day, Jerome could care less about Surf or the other teams in which all the good players left. His only concern ever was for his FAF team and getting his kid and her cronies into a more competitive league. He used Surf to get that access and now he could care less. Hence, why NY Surf wasn't even listed on the Delco players roster....it was listed as East Coast FC. He would've been better off staying in Elite 64 and moving the right girls up and the weaker girls down, rather than playing in this new RL league which is pretty much EDP.

Yes, I agree he is so rich that he would throw the whole club down the drain and lose all his investment to please his daughter. He doesn't care about the rest of the club at all, only one team. ECNL RL won't put up with a team finishing last after they have their asses handed to them. They will be out of the league next year all because of the one team he has his daughter on. You all hit the nail on the head. He really messed up and will lose everything, just like the EMSC club. If they had one team finish last or get their asses handed to them, they would be out. Thank god they have a combined 8-43 record this year, or who knows what would happen. He must not understand how the ECNL leagues work because they are surely not going to put up with a team doing badly, especially when they find out FAF is involved.

You made the right move EC/SURF will not be around next year with all these shenanigans going on. Wait until other parents find out about the FAF they will pull their kids from all the A teams to get away from that kind of behavior. We all know how virtuous soccer parents on LI are they won't stand for it!!

East Meadow finishes last in every age group every year and ECNL doesn't get rid of them. I don't think performance and quality of soccer matters to ECNL. If it did EM and SUSA wouldn't be in the league. It's all about money

That was the point of the post; it was sarcasm. ECNL doesn't care about FAF, and neither do 95% of the parents on SURF or EC was the point. The point of the post was how stupid everyone here is getting over him having his daughter on a team. Literally, no one cares except for the few parents that are on the B team that want to move because they felt their daughter was better than his. Maybe a few parents on the actual team if his daughter isn't good and is costing them games. Otherwise, nobody cares! The point was even if that team finishes last because his daughter was on the team ECNL would not care because look at EMSC.

The main points I'm getting from this thread is ECNL does not care. They are a money league and they've only expanded this new division so tehy can get more money from other clubs in the NY region. EMSC seems to have been an ECNL failure for years, but they keep registering full rosters and paying ECNL their dues every year. So why change that?
More importantly is the FAF team now ECRL or whatever they call themselves has been put together under the guise of a failed marriage last year that birthed the Elite 64 roster at Surf. Talented girls from all 3 clubs were spread out amongst 2 teams so both can be competitive in the new league. Long standing Surf parents on the non FAF team felt slighted when they were treated as the red headed step children. Tryouts was the solution to bring the best talent under 1 team and moving the rest through other 2 or 3 teams for the particular age group. This is where, I think the anxiety with Jerome's FAF came about. He went and personally engineered the tryouts to favor his daughter, her friends and the other FAF kids. Slighted parents got disgusted as they saw it all happening in front of their eyes and get this one....gave Jon F the finger on the way out.
It seems as if they went to tryout at LISC who brought them into the GA team. Ironic that these kids couldn't make an ECRL team but were given GA spots to compete at higher level. If I'm hearing right a couple went on and got acceptances from Gary Sullivan at EMSC for the 2009 ECNL team. Again go figure. My takeaway is Jerome did himself and those kids an injustice by not letting the tryout process unfold naturally. Looks like the Surf brand been soiled at least for this age group and you know the saying 1 hint of bad news spreads 10 fold like wild fire. So I am pretty certain these parents and kids that left have already spread their message out to all their Surf friends.

My question is why so much hatred and fire? This thread was dead until the FAF Fiasco came out. FAF=FRIENDS AND FAMILY

Not too sure about this....not many spots open on GA unless it's the new GA rising team and as far as EMSC....the ones who are going back are probably the couple who used to play for him and left EM a couple years ago. Now with Gary back, they're running back.
