Surf kick and run soccer? The problem is they don't know how to use players with skills in their top teams.

That’s not true the 08 elite 64 team will be the ECRL team the East Coast 08 teams is Div 4 the 08 Surf B team is even worse than the EC team None of this is true. EC/Surf decided to put all the girls in all age groups back in the pool. They were all required to attend tryouts, and Surf will create new ECRL teams. They are not just giving the ECRL to one of their existing teams. The ECRL teams will be a new teams using existing players from their current teams, and new players were available. So they want you to believe that.....That's what they said at last years 09 tryout too right?.....come try out for Elite 64....but nobody outside of the EC's owners "MetOval" team was invited to play on Elite 64. So let's see who's going to be on this new ECRL team...It should be no surprise to anyone, that it's going to be that same "Chelsea/MetOval/Elite 64 team"....that's who. There will be no more Elite 64 for them, as it didn't work out as expected. Considering it was NY SURF who was able to pull off getting this ECRL badge, the Boss (Jon) should make sure that proper tryouts are taking place and that EC is not taking over and screwing deserving girls over. From what I've seen and heard, there's at least 10 girls scattered between Surf's Academy and Pre-Academy teams who are way stronger players and deserve to be on the top team. This is why it's false advertising when you start pushing the ECNL/RL card to bring people into your tryouts......you know exactly who's already on the team. No outsiders.

The 2009's were taken for a long ride with that E64 crap. Everyone on the surf academy and pre academy teams know the ECRL team will be the MetOval girls. Jon is the EC puppet. It will all materialize after tryouts when the invitations go out. Girls that were outstanding during round 1 who are not MetOval will be ignored. Round 2 all MetOval girls will be identified and moved around faking the tryout process. When it all blows over there will be MetOval alone and some pissed off Surf parents that will follow their teammates out of the club. My 09 daughter is leaving and there are a handful of other parents that are on the fence. There is no place for talented girls that are not part of the EC MetOval family, who will be the Surf ECRL team whether anyone here likes it or not. There also won't be any places for girls with all those fancy soccer skills who are on the 2nd and 3rd teams. Best you start looking elsewhere.

There also won't be any places for girls with all those fancy soccer skills who are on the 2nd and 3rd teams. Best you start looking elsewhere. Both of these statements are 1000% on point. Especially the last point, that there is no place for the talented girls who are NOT part of the original Chelsea/MetOval family. Exactly right...The owner's daughter and her friends play on this team....so obviously that's where his interest is. That was the whole reason why he sought after the whole Met Oval arrangement (which failed) and then tried to bring in Sesa and Surf to partner with...to try to obtain some kind of higher level of league competition for his kid. We know Met Oval didn't work out.....This Elite 64 isn't working out as they aren't doing well and parents are annoyed spending $$$ for nothing. So what's next.....let's take Surf's newly obtained RL status and give it to the same team who aren't producing results elsewhere. It's a shame, there are some pretty high level players (better than Elite 64) on the Surf B and C teams who are just being taken for a ride. And yes, all these new potential kids trying out be careful.

Apparently parents at SURF tryouts last week were told that ECRL invitations will be sent out later that day. Met Oval girls were the only ones that were sent invitations at this point. Guess where that train is heading. They are competing with SUSA and EMSC tryouts and that will screw them because parents should waste time with a club that already has their roster set. Tryouts are just for show at SURF and only to appease the parents into thinking it was fair. Met Oval team will remain the same playing ECRL. Wait until end of tryouts and it'll all pan out. Parents will be bailing from Surf HARD!

Now let's see if EC swaps out any of the current roster for those better skilled players on the B and C teams.

All the original Surf players who were somewhat promised playing in Elite 64 are sitting on the b and c teams. They never had a chance. It was all for the Met Oval team. Hopefully some of those who should be playing at a higher level were moved up and the more average players will be moved down.

Too bad Met Oval folks does not realize that the bigger, faster rosters tend to even out after a certain age. Ball skills and Soccer IQ takes over and destroys teams that are still chasing the big kick, all muscle, physical game. It might be game over for that lot there at Met Oval.

Met Oval girls teams still exist ? When they're referring to Met Oval, they're talking about the EC Chelsea team which is now EC Elite 64 (surf). This team played for Met Oval very briefly. Now, Met Oval only has girls teams 2008 and above.

My guess is SURF girls will end up over at East Meadow leaving the East Coast girls to make up the SURF ECRL team.

I was told by the 08 coach Eite 64 will be the RL at tryouts This is what the Surf 09 parents are saying as well. It’s already a done deal. This evening’s tryout is an utter waste of time, good luck to those that attend. They’ve already slotted your kid.

Don't be naive, Surf is no different than any other club regarding tryouts. They already know who the majority of the team will be. Others will be filled as needed.

Very true that the other clubs know who the majority of their teams will consist of in advance of tryouts, however, when a club owner's kid and their best friends have all remained on the club's top team for years, while there's many MUCH stronger and well deserving players sitting on your B, C and D teams, that leaves a bad a taste. Hence is why numerous people on the board are calling it out.

This evening’s tryout is an utter waste of time, good luck to those that attend. They’ve already slotted your kid. Another spot on prediction. Last night was a waste of time. They took all of our girls(outsiders) and put them on 1 team to duke it out. Jerome took all his Met Oval girls on 1 team and had them scrimmage against the other teams they put together. Weird enough the MO team did not spend much time on the field scrimmaging. They kept pulling them off as if they didn't want them to be challenged by the new girls. There was no way to tell if you kid was better or could have fit in with the supposedly better MO girls. After the first half was complete, we were sure they had already know who the ECRL girls were. It was obvious when they picked the 11v11 teams. All MO girls were on the same color and the coaches kept taking them off so they won't be embarrassed by the newbies. Surf parents on the sidelines were talking about half of the Academy team not returning next year for the BS. Look as if EC is chipping away at SURF NY's base. Soon they will all be gone because supposedly this is the same thing seen at all age groups.

So funny, had a few friends down there last night and they said the EXACT same thing. utter waste of time....BS scrimmage....Parents all pissed as the ridiculous politics was quite evident. He groups his Met Oval girls (kid's team) together but hardly on the field. Didn't want them looking bad in front of everyone with his B and C team players running circles around them. And newbies, forget about it. This is how it's laid out......Met Oval/His kid's team the new RL....his old EC B team....all on Academy B team with a few of the original and better Surf players.....everyone else regardless of skill...regardless of where you're coming from....pre-academy C team....and for those who don't want any of it, he'll gladly find you a spot on the EC Academy team (SESA). Thanks for coming everyone!!! What a joke!!

Why you would pay all this money for EC\ Surf is beyond me, the tryouts they have are a joke and taking new teams all over the country in bottom brackets and not even challenging them, now they are RL and will continue to travel and not perform
