That is great news! East Meadow NL team needs all the help they can get. RM really did a number on those girls and sent the wrong kids packing for other clubs. Now with Gary in charge, hopefully he gets it together and bring the band back together. Most of the girls on the ECNL team will be great playing in Farmingdale on the ECRL badge. That is probably the only move that will save the ECNL program for the 2009's at East Meadow. Sucks for the kids getting displaced, but they had an entire year to prove themselves. Other clubs will gladly take those players, question is would the coveted ECNL or ECRL parents want to stoop low?

Why would SUSA NL players need to seek out trainers outside of SUSA? According to some wallopers on here, SUSA trainer/coaches are in line to take over Pep at Man City when he leaves.

Absolutely no girl on the NL team, will stay w EM if they get demoted down to the Farmingdale rl team. No way on earth.

Rude awakening-a la Ruairi style. This would not be the first time RM and GS have both demoted girls. I hope these parents have another plan in store because I am sure the guys in charge already have a change ready for them. No natter how they look at it, they will do what is best for the club and if it means replacing a weak team with players that are from a better system then guess what is going to happen. Of course EM is not looking to lose the money so they all will be offered RL places with a promise of getting back up to the NL team. How has that worked out in the past? TBH RM should have cleaned shop in the last year to avoid the embarrassment. He is too good of a trainer and has a better reputation than what this team has managed to give him. He will 100% look to redeem himself this time around.

LOL did someone say dumpster fire???? EM is turning into one real fast. Rumbling on this board is saying it already is a dumpster...lol. I know one of the East Meadow coaches son is playing at East Coast. How eye opening is that?

Both East coast and Slammers are telling parents that if enough of their teams finish in the top 2 in most age groups they’ll be promoted to ECNL. Why would they both be saying that, and what does that mean for the future of east meadow?

A better question to ask would be what does that mean for the future of your ATM card?

Take it for what it is worth. I spoke to someone who was on the last ECNL call, and it was mentioned that a relegation plan is being discussed for underperforming ECNL teams for the 25/26 season. This is why EC and Slammers feel they will be promoted soon if they can perform. I was told in no uncertain terms they are concerned with clubs that have been underperforming, hurting the ECNL brand. They did not mention specifics about how it would work, but he got the impression it wasn't a matter of "if" but "when."

Pro/Rel sounds great in theory, but really only works if you have one team. It basically destroys all these RL teams for clubs that have both NL/RL.. zero incentive to ever do anything with a second team and could hurt market share in the long run. Too much money at stake for them to do pro/rel. As such, color me skeptical.

They are looking to add teams to certain conferences, especially NE and NA where there 8 and 10 teams respectively, before they would start relegating teams. I am by no means a fan of EM, but they are nowhere near as bad as a lot of teams in other conferences. As weak as some think the NE conference is, all the teams seem to do well playing against teams from other conferences. You only have to look at the results in Greer to see this. If it’s any team that will be promoted to ECNL in the NE conference, it’s going to be Albany Alleycats. They have the facilities, great teams and the geography where there are no other ECNL teams that close-by. They might even pull back the girls they have lost to World Class. Not a chance it’s going to be Slammers.

If you haven't heard, here's another pressure/threat tactic made by East Coast to parents. They had to commit to the club by last week or lose their spot on the roster. I hope parents said GFY and look elsewhere.

Gotta love when your club takes you on a away tournament with one trainer and leaves the other teams with no coach

That happened to me when my daughter was playing with EMSC and the Hearney brothers where the trainers and coaches and they both disappeared to other teams.....before game 31 started I took my daughter back to the car and drove home from NC......I'm confident that the poster quoted is and should be very pissed...i also demanded my money for the tournament and expenses be returned....got my tournament money back.

Just happened with a boys Dix Hills team at Delco. Trainer their for first game then no where to be found for second game. Parents coaching game while paying ridiculous fees for coaching.

Dix Hills has teams paying over 3K to play in LIJSL. That is for another forum...

But, but...Ruari always said he doesn’t care about winning, just player development!

The guy is a disgusting human being, and don't be fooled by Mr MLS Gary - as long as you keep paying for his private training you're in his graces. Just keep enough cash in your pocket.

That is what a coach will say when he knows he cannot win anything. Sour grapes is exactly what the fox keeps saying. Ruairi M had never developed anything that is worth putting a reputation on line for. He claims to be Crystal Dunn’s guardian during her formative years. Have the conversation with her father and he will say that’s all lip service as she had other coaches open those doors for her. He saw an oppty in a top player in the region and begged her parents to be at her side.

Every youth coach is mandated by the US soccer folks to make development the focus. So no matter what club you join, be assured they all are all looking at the same playbook. RM is just having a stretch of 11 years where he is developing and not winning. Maybe you parents should ask him back for all the money since he’s developed no one in that space of time.

Every club that EM plays are beating them, so maybe his development and not winning talk is only a crap load of you know what. Be ignorant and believe, but every club in the youth soccer business is developing kids to the point where they have become serial winners. That is what success looks like, but you can keep following RM and pump all your money behind his vision for YOUR kid.

Let us not talk about Gary. That’s the superficial fat basterd of LI Soccer that will never look at a kid unless he can milk money from her parents. He has never done anything for LI Soccer but will pump his chest when a kid that did 5 sessions with him when she was 9, picks up a college scholarship.

The deceit is real. This is their best sales season so lap it up families. High school is next and watch them keep pilfering and getting you no where all in the name of development.

When you have the best players pass through your hands and decide to choose only the ones whose families have enough money to give you a 5-6 year steady flow of private training fees and club receipts then the only thing you can say is it is all in the name of development. Kids leaving your hands are too poor and not good enough for them to train.

This practice is fully supported by EMSC because all the stakeholders need their kids to play ECNL and get the invitation given to every DOC to attend national training camp. Watch it happen in the next couple years as they’ve already baited, switched and ready to recycle for new blood. These 2 clowns have been exposed many times over.

After EM they cannot go anywhere else because no club wants these crooks. LISC made it clear they did not want Gary bringing his cooties to their club. RM is only good as the paper his fancy credentials are on. His reputation doesn’t give anything to be considered. Look at his track record at the ECNL and that alone will tell his story.

This post will be hammered by the EM, Ruairi and Gary groupies. Come to their defense, I know for a fact that there are many families they’ve wronged. We left last year for SUSA that has their own problems but wished we would have not wasted all those years at EM. Tryouts are coming up, think about what’s best for your kid and not what the EM hen house is prescribed for you.

Love or hate these clubs…they have the ECNL. And ECNL does the college showcase right.
Everything else is a huge uphill battle.

Nothing else compares, and you can afford to develop, because you don’t need to win.
If you’re not getting clobbered at major events like the Jeff Cup then you’re ok.
Susa and EMSC played in the 1st and second Div. They showed fine.

Hate all day, but your just sour grapin’

Is Alex still foaming from the mouth about East Meadow? It’s great that RM and GS still pervades his every thought, and it has been going on for years with no end it sight. Love it! Alex can’t get the little man nor the big man out of his head. RM has completely destroyed him. Ha!

This story is the same for nearly every EM age group. Club is run for benefit of a few people in positions of power. EMSC is a failing ECNL club.

Less than half were current players, if going by those wearing EM training gear as opposed to those who weren’t. A few Slammers, a few SURF/EC were there.

Correct less than half attended. ECNL team invites were already sent out.
