Sherlock, trainers and coaches are all youth teams have. That is the only reason they can win games. What are you paying EM for? It is just that they have a very low quality coaching staff. Most are probably unlicenced for the job. SUSA on the other hand have track records for former players turned coaches. I saw recently EM is putting a college baseball player to coach the 2010 ECNL team. Now that is delusion so banter on that as well while you are at it fool. RM took over from Gary the 2009 EM Courage team that never lost a game in 2-3 years. Played in tournaments like Spooky and never came in 2nd or played lower brackets. Girls were from Nassau and Suffolk counties. They all left under RM.

Parents like me are the ones that would not let Gary or Rauiri anywhere near my kid. Gary got into a sissy fit a couple years ago when he and another coach-Matt had a personal issue. Well he banished Matt's daughter from his selective top team and from what I understand still cannot make it out of the mud he put her in. Ruairi was butt hurt a few years ago when Keith's daughter decided to follow her friends to another club. Somehow Ruari figured that he should un-invite her sister from playing ECNL on an older team. The little man used his DOC power wisely to vindicate himself so he can sleep better at nights. Parents like you are the ones that gives them the ability to do all that. You've already drank the coolaid-but most will wake up eventually. Too late at this point as kids at EM cannot make it at any other club. Try LAX or basketball. They got into a "sissy fit" not because of Gary but because of Matt, as Matt thought that his daughter should've been selected simply because he was also an EM coach. I don't think you know Gary at all, he wants to WIN. How could Gary "banish" anyone when he hasn't coached the 09's in almost 2 years. It goes to show, not only did Gary not think she was good enough, neither does RM. And from what I've heard, RM used to rent (might still for all I know) an apartment in Matt's house, so no favors there either. Say what you want about EM, but I think they try to pick the players they think will help them win, they just don't have enough talented athletes who can play soccer. That's not their fault. Matt rightly showed up Gary on a chat and in person. I went to those games. I saw how Gary played certain girls more minutes and in positions that left other parents wondering. When asked about his in game decisions he would garble nonesense. Matt called him out and he made RM retaliate against the little girl. During tournaments he would run away from the team and hide out in his car in between breaks. He is as gutless as you can get. There was another parent-Wes that called him out and eventually left the club with his daughter for a more professionally run club. And EM does get to pick the kids. Gary uses his side job to recruit replacements at EM. So you can indirectly or directly blame him for the shiitty job EM has been doing the last 9 years.

You are the same jerk posting on the other board about EM’s new 2010 coach. Who gives a flying F what you think. I am not at SUSA and could give 2 craps about their program, their coaches, or anything else.

For someone that doesn't give a flying F, you are certainly taking the time to monitor and respond in record time. Sorry I don't know anything about that new coach. My daughter was coached by Gary and Ruairi when she started travel soccer. We are long gone at this point. A lot has changed since then, because we(the parents) all figured these girls will go onto something special. EM had to screw it all up. Now its fun looking back and sticking it to them for throwing it all away.

Are you SERIOUS, "left parents wondering", 90% of parents have NO F-ING clue about the game of soccer nor the positions. I will agree with you that the trainers get to pick the kids, but there ain't much to be picking from. I've been at most tryouts. I will also agree with you that EM is a terribly run organization and they've ruined themselves.

A few had older kids playing ECNL so it wasn’t their first rodeo. It rubbed off on the handful of clueless parents on the team. Parents that were in the know pointed out stuff that caused the coach to scurry away anytime the opportunity to talk came up. Gary voided eye contact because he had already been called out for favoriting the kids he trained privately in his studio. Like I said it is all about the money generated for his side gig. This is not about the kids or developing a solid team. Never was.

Totally agree with you that Gary has a massive conflict of interest especially when training girls on the side who are already on the team. It’s completely wrong and is the reason why LISC gave Gary the middle finger when he tried to go over there. They were not going to allow him to train in his studio.

The best players are the ones that develop passion for the game and go out and practice in the back yard until it's dark and develop a decent first-touch. Most trainers have little effect on the outcome after players are 9- 11 years old. Those are the golden years for soccer development and most of the "better" players already learned their skills elsewhere before they get "recruited" to the likes of SUSA or EMSC by trainers with accents who convince mom and dad that the magic beans they are selling will lead their little Mia to the beanstalk of college scholarships.

Ans=d Gary doesn't even have a coaching license so go figure, he deserves the finger. Conflict of interest is normal at EMSC and the common thing is using the kids enrolled in the club programs to make that tax free money on the side. Gary isn't the only coach promising playing time and access to the top teams for extra side training. Mike Cartier as former club president is the man behind [****] and makes a killing during the cold months when he had every EMSC team sign up for multi week tournaments. He used his post as president to reach out to all clubs in LI as well so they can register for his tournaments. Jaime has recently opened up something similar and with the help of EMSC has all the older teams doing the same. They now pay Jaime a substantial sum to train at his location during the winter. Conflict you say? Mike Cartier left the club as president and had a board position created just for him as Dir of get this...Tournaments. <Insert pun here>. Conflict you say? That opened up another money stream for him and who gets to watch it all unfold...toothless EMSC parents. While all of them are filling their pockets, the kids get piss poor soccer training and there is nothing to show but team bound together by duct tape that gets handed over to another coach to rape for a couple more years.

What does substantial mean? All indoor facilites are super expensive. If paying market for it then who cares who owns it if gets the job done. Wouldnt say a conflict on interest unless they are grossly overpaying for it. Unless you know exactly what they pay (with proof) wouldnt say even worth opening your mouth about it..move on and worry about your kid/team/club.

Maybe that's cause you are one of the many pocketing from East Meadow Soccer Club. If not then lemme give you a little background. Jim and Kristin sub out many of their bookkeeping jobs to my firm. East Meadow Soccer Club happens to be one of their clients. Have I seen winter receipts for [****]? Can I compare with 516 as well as 360? Of course. Is there more than meets the eye at that club?? I would hedge a strong bet on that. So slow your roll and worry about where your monthly fee payment to East Meadow Soccer Club is really going. I can tell you a miniscule fraction is going to your kids coaches and the rest...well...how about you pop into suite 309 and ask for a review of GL entries for accrued expenses not realized for the last 24 mths. But you won't get that because you are only a paying customer so keep writing the checks and let the conflict-of-interest blow right by you. Move on and worry about your kid's next club and team when they need to refresh the club rosters.

LISC09 at this age is where you want your kid. SUSA makes burn out targets of their kids and EMSC is too much of a hype over town team type program. Absolute best girls option at this age is the LISC program.

This is true. There is supposed to be some development coming down in a couple weeks that should help out. They are looking at aligning the 2nd teams to a more competitive league and bring in incentives for players to join the club. That new ECRL league is pushing a number of players to GA from EMSC NL and SUSA the ATM card's best friend RL as well as Carolina teams. It seems like after tryouts, both the GA and Premier teams will strengthen with the number showing interest.

How much is LISC for the year? It depends if you are on the 1st team or the 2nd team. I think it was $4000 for the 1st team and $3500 for the 2nd team.

LISC prices might change for the GA Rising teams. This might mean an adjustment for the GA teams as well based on the numbers expected to be enrolled this coming season. Its surely cheaper than SUSA the ATM card's best friend and better quality than bottom dwelling EMSC.

And you call SUSA the ATM card's best friend ‘ATM’ machines? As bad as it is paying $4000 for the GA team, paying $3500 for the premier team is just having a laugh.

My daughter may tryout for SUSA the ATM card's best friend, are their even any open spots because I'm hearing they don't drop players from the team? Guess a money thing, and don't want to lose them to another club? So even if my daughter talented enough basically no spots available.
