The amount of money that parents are paying for the privilege of playing within any of the for-profit academies has become serious money.
Obviously, y'all must think it is worth it, so that begs the question what is, if any, your end-game objective?
I voted for having fun for my children however we are faced with some serious travel just for our kids to play the game. It has become all about the money for the leagues and academies. There is no concern about the kids. Sports provide a great opportunity to develop a well-rounded child but the costs of time and money are ridiculous. Very hard to justify the travel for games and the many tournaments showcases that are required for these leagues. ECNL has become a pure money grab.
On a side note, NCAA has changed their subbing rules to help "prevent" overuse injuries however the great and mighty ECNL has not adjusted to same. They are too busy creating additional revenue streams and completely lack common sense. ECNL leadership is not connected to anything that helps the kids, they are trying to create a monopoly on the sport which is awful for the sport!
I cant stand the lady that is in charge of this league. Tried to reason with her on this topic and other important topics but she is pathetic and a complete disgrace to the sport and the kids she should be protecting.
