I was referring to this weekends Continental Tire ECNL event in Arizona. Sounds like we are referring to 2 different things. This weekend is for the best players, hence why you could never find an EM player there since that is not their focus. SUSA has always entered teams in the Arizona Spring events. Great exposure for the girls against mostly West Coast teams.

What you are referring to is the "selection game" as part of this weekend's ENCL Arizona Showcase. These selection games usually occur at most of the ECNL showcases. Now as far as exposure, I'm not sure what exposure SUSA 08 is going to get during this weekend's showcase in Arizona. The SUSA 08 team is playing 3 games against bottom of the barrel west coast teams which have a combined record thus far this year of 1-28-5. These 3 teams have scored a combined 10 goals in 34 games. So glad JR keeps touting how great these ECNL showcases are for the players.

INCORRECT AGAIN!! They are at every event and both SUSA and EM have had players in this years events. Keep hating on a club when you obviously have an axe to grind. Just look up the rosters on the ECNL site, public knowldege...

Go look at JR's Trainings he is the direct reason why the girls are having acl problems. All he does is curse at the players and run them physically to the point where the players have no more energy and acl popping

I agree this is exactly what JR does and you left out so much more. We are now moved on from soccer but his ongoing presence in youth soccer shocks us. His behavior and arrogance is troubling. Combine his behavior on and off the field with the fact he is in charge of the girls side of things at SUSA says a whole lot about SUSA. Issue is none of the parents have the forum to speak up and they still keep their daughters there.

ECNL does not want to hear about individual complaints. JR has some how convinced ECNL officials with all that is going on that he is part of the solution and not the problem. From what we understand though existing families there, other coaches that report to JR see his behavior and the weak narrow minded ones start to behave like him. Why do ECNL officials ignore complaints? Why isn’t there a minimum requirement for coaches to coach at ECNL clubs? Why is it okay to curse at and verbally abuse minors? Why is it okay to steal these kids youth and parents continue to look the other way? So many questions but in the end money before the kids. My guess is one day he and SUSA will hurt the wrong family and street justice will take over.

You do realize that they are playing in the absolute lowest division against teams that quite literally don’t score. Not a knock against said teams, they are all small local clubs in the west coast.

I was there, at the AZ showcase the last few years.
From what I remember, There was only 1 assistant coach viewing that bracket of teams from a division 3 school in attendance. For all 3 years.
The assistant coach looked like he was pretty young.
I know for a fact that most all east coast clubs choose not to participate/declare eligible because it is extremely burdensome for families and very costly.
There are more than enough Id sessions along the east coast.

You sure you were there? NOT THE OP BUT not sure you know what you are talking about. I am NO SUSA fan but they are playing top level teams from west coast/midwest/etc, every age is different but recruiting ages will get lot of looks. All older games at same fields with all top teams, so on the kids to get coaches to come watch as well. What "small local club " is in the ECNL on the West Coast? ECNL is mostly big money/expensive clubs. Which is half the complaints on here about cost of SUSA and EM which whether want to admit or not are pretty big clubs. At least for LI area

Folks, just take a look at the ECNL standings in each conference. It’s basically the same across all age groups. 1/3 of all the teams are unable to compete, many can’t even win a game let alone score a few goals. ECNL and the GA are nothing more than platforms and the more teams the more fees get generated. They are both growing but at the expense of quality. Simply look at the standings and you will see that the top 1/3 dominate, the middle third are about .500, and the bottom third barely win.

I posted facts about SUSA 08 in Arizona. They are playing 3 teams this weekend with a combined record of 1-28-5. Do you call that playing top level teams out west? I don’t know about the other age groups but I am pissed off because we are spending a lot of money. We finished 4th in our conference last season so I don’t know why we’re playing the bottom of the barrel teams. JR is going to have a lot of explaining to do.

Why on earth would a so called top ECNL team travel to Arizona to play those teams? They might as well of scheduled a scrimmage with EM and LISC and told the parent that “college recruits” were going to go watch. Kudos to SUSA and JR on building the SUSA brand and brain washing the parents. What a bunch of sheep we all are.

08s only team that playing competition like that. Rest are playing high level teams. Maybe JR telling you that you aren’t as good as you think.

On a larger Note : Congratulations to the Long Island Boys 08 age group that qualified for the USYS National final 16 in Orlando in July... LGN Stony Brook, Brentwood and NY Hota Bavarians SC all qualified from NYE. Well done to these teams and representing Long Island and making us proud.

JR doesn't make the brackets but he should absolutely complain to ECNL about this, it's BS that a 4th place team is flying across the country to play bottom of the barrel teams.

Maybe the New England Division is considered to be a weak ECNL division. That would explain why they are playing the teams they are playing. Before you complain about who you are playing you may want to actually play the games. Your post will not age well if you don't blow out all 3 opponents.

All local teams didn't do well at Jeff Cup or were in lower brackets. Some didn't do well in the lower brackets either.

Many teams. But if referring to who from Long Island. On the girls side, I only saw Susa Albertson and east meadow.
The other big local-ish academies in attendance were fc stars world class match fit
Fc bucks, nysc

What age group LGN 08 absolutely killed it? Is the Boys 08 age group possibly the strongest out of NY?
I also noticed if you did not play ECNL you were placed in lower divisions , is this so the ECNL teams wouldn't get beat by the USYS teams?

Did anyone see U15s NY Hota play LI Brentwood Rush on Wednesday night @ SUSA... what a great game supposedly both these teams had already qualified for Nationals and were only playing for bragging rights.
Well, let me tell you they put on some exciting game it had it all. I was there for my sons practice and heard the crowd so I walked over . I couldn't walk away with the atmosphere and the intensity of the game . Well done to both teams as they put on some show for u 15s.

You sound more like a parent from the winning team
