No, it's not happening at EC. That was my point. The poster I responded to said it should be happening and questioned why EC didn't do this over winter break. I responded that they didn't do it because it would upset their parents. Sometimes I think people don't read posts before they respond.

I'm pretty sure a 10 yr old can't enter into a contract and any parent "signing a contract" for their kid to play a youth sport is insane. I am pretty sure it wouldn't hold up in any court.

Parents should have to sign contracts regarding their behavior and actions.

It happens all the time. Do you not have a kid that plays in any club sport? I am not saying they are enforceable, but parents sign plans to pay for their kid's soccer. You can pay annually upfront or in multiple payments. That is a form of a contract. When you pay, the club will have a part of the contract that gives reasons for breaking that contract that would allow you to either stop paying or get a refund of unused amounts.

Let's say you pay a full year upfront for your kid to play for 12 months. They have been chosen to play on the A team. Then halfway through the year, the team drops them to the B team, well you can either leave the club and ask for a refund which they don't have to provide, depending on the terms of the CONTRACT you signed, or they can pay you the refund. The same would go for monthly payments. The 10yr old didn't enter into the contract the parents did when they agreed to pay the club.

No parents should be singing contracts for youth soccer players! This is a greed at a whole new level. Players under 18 cannot be contracted to play youth sports. That’s what this is youth sports. If you are asked to sign a contract that should be your first sign the club is only in for the money and not the development of your kids. You should move on from that type of situation immediately.

Oh well, that's one EC "Academy" team eliminated last weekend.

Well today, their 2nd team was eliminated by some unknow non-academy team called Amityville SC. They still think all that money paying to play at EC is worth it?

Amityville is a Div 4 in LIJSL or EDP? Not that it makes a difference cause a Div 4 team is a div 4 team. Hey EC parents, how are you going to spin this loss? Is it too late to ask for your five hundred back?

Please stop hitting us EC parents in the face with facts, it was a very disappointing cup game. We had to deal with the cold and Amityville's coach did a better job at preparing his boys than ours did. Parents on the sidelines were shaking their heads in disbelief, "how can we lose to these guys?"

that's why the games are played. not poking fun at any team. It's just laughable how supposedly grown adults go on-line and talk smack
about youth sports teams.... any of them. no amount of money, training, world class coaches, state of the art facilities, summer camps, screaming parents,
player poaching, team hoping will ever teach a kid heart. and heart wins games and builds championship individuals.
(for the record, I don't even have a kid in this age group or on a long island team)

Amityville flat out beat East Coast, no excuses. The kids simply outplayed, more aggressive, better passing and didn't have the annoying parent screaming " let's go East Coast, you can do it!".

At this age group, what is the most effective formation for a team ? I feel at times clubs complicate things with anything other than a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3.

I am so confused here. Were you at the game now? I hate the anonymity on this board. You have no idea who is saying what and especially with EC because there is a poster on here that has made it his life mission to disparage them because of a slight to his son he feels happened. He continuously responds to his own posts and pretends to be another parent responding. I take everything said about EC with a grain of salt now because of this guy, and everyone should.

If the previous poster is a real EC parent, then you should leave the club and probably take your kid out of soccer if one loss to an inferior team sets you off that badly. It was a 2-1 loss omg flat-out beat them what a whipping they took in the first game of the year. There are so many factors that could explain a 1 goal loss. My daughter's team once lost to a far inferior team by one goal due to just bad refereeing that resulted in two penalty kicks and yellow cards flying everywhere it was a [****] show of a game. Things happen, and inferior teams beat better teams all the time ask Purdue or Arizona. It's why we play a season.

Yeah, you must be referring to that woman that doesn’t shut up, just keeps on yapping even when they are losing.

At U13 the 4-4-2 is the most effective formation as this is the first year playing on the large sided field 11 v 11. It affords players the chance to better understand their positions and tactical responsibilities while providing better spacing and allow for support. You have to walk before you can run.

3-4-3 is my favorite if development of players is your objective. 4-3-3 is easiest for coaches to teach, 4-4-2 is best if you're main objective is winning.

The new ECSURF team outplayed their affiliate on Friday. They are the stronger team and should be the #2 team in this age group.

Just a few more days until a team pays for a trip to Spain for their coaches.

Parents beware, EC on the girls side was invited to participate in a new ECRL league, it's not ECNL and this will not be extended to the boys teams!! JK the clown will try to spin it somehow but do not fall for it.
