all we see on these boards is the repeated bashing of every club on LI. I am the first to agree with you that the parents are major contributors to the cesspool that has become youth soccer, but please let us know where we should be having our children play?
The problem of pay to play and the monetization of youth soccer is not unique to our tiny island. US soccer is in shambles right now and how can we expect the lower levels of our "developmental" pyramid to operate properly when we have the highest levels operating within the same drama filled scenario that exemplifies a typical weekend day on our youth soccer complexes? There is no magic wand to fix this.
If your child is happy where they are playing and they are treated well by their coach (pay attention to that point parents) sit back and enjoy the ride. It will be over before you know it, and maybe you will get to extend your season ticket holder status beyond their high school years... Truer word were never spoken: " parents are major contributors to the cesspool that has become youth soccer, " please let us know where we should be having our children play? Open the front door of your house-look left, look right...these are your neighbors and your child's friends live here - that's where all the kids on LI should be playing - local clubs

LI parents should also blame all the local clubs that supported SUSA by hiring them to be their training facilitators. Local clubs like Albertson (who really opened up the flood gates), Baymen Soccer Club, Sound Beach, Bellport and New Hyde Park were suckered into believing SUSA will provide quality training. SUSA is laughing all the way to bank with their money. SUSAs main concerns were making enough money to support the ECNL teams, their new fields and and building a brand to sell off. They didn’t care about helping local clubs develop their programs. They cared about poaching their best players and moving them to their program and taking clubs money. With the exception of Albertson because of their boys ECNL, None of those club teams play competitive soccer and should be ashamed of themselves. They could’ve used the wasted money on SUSA trainers and wisely given back to the community in other ways.
East Meadow is not too far behind Albertson. Little by little they’re selling out too.
I’m sending out special thank you to all those local clubs for being part of the LI soccer destruction.

Susa STOPPED listing all their trainers because most are unqualified hacks. Yes, they have some decent trainers, but they 75 or more teams they need to cover, SUSA is a walk on club for players where everyone gets a roster spot and a walk on job for most trainers
Watered down talent, watered down trainers, but everyone pays!

Albertson was not a local club, they were THE club on long Island on the girls side. Unfortunately, Paul Riley destroyed that. Had he not, SUSA as we all know it, likely wouldn't exist because they probably would not have gotten girls ECNL. As far as I know SUSA only got girls ECNL because Albertson lost it.

That is a correct statement. Riley tried to time ECNL and Kurt caught with his pants down, pun intended, and lost the girls ECNL, but he did retain the boys ECNL, which then went to Susa when Riley left town and Albertson needed someone or an organization to handle the higher end of the Albertson club.

Larry, Albertson Soccer Club uses SUSA trainers for their Intramural program correct? I believe so. They have a contract with Albertson, but the last I heard is that Albertson was not thrilled with SUSA. I think part of the deal is once an Albertson team turns either u13 or U14 they become a SUSA team.

Clubs have to decide where to spend there money as part of their business model. Susa sends there money on the facility. The coaching besides maybe 1 or 2 coaches is below par. It's a shame

What part of a for-profit business are you missing when it comes SUSA?
Do you really think Glenn is in this for the betterment of soccer or for the betterment of his bottom line?

Glenn bit off way more than he can chew! I think a better way of putting it is Glenn got you to bite off more than you can chew and will pocket a huge profit and leave you ATM card carrying parents in his rear view mirror.

What coach even stays if it is sold…an academy buys it like redbulls or an international club: They will keep a few for a bit if they are lucky. You’re buying the facility: that deed plus the projects. And the league.

Property is not owned by SUSA. It's owned by Glen (family) and leased to SUSA.
Few points here that are interesting 1. Does Moussa have any ownership of the Real Estate? They sold Hauppauge and Smithtown facilities for 7 figure profits, does he see any of that? 2. SUSA parents have paid the bills for his real estate investments and covered the overhead of SUSA. 3. Does SUSA show a profit or a loss each year. If they aren't showing a profit it would mean Moussa is basically an employee of SUSA. 4. Does Moussa understand what happened here? 5. Now that the ATM's helped him turn a 7 figure profit on each of the properties, the overhead at SUSA will decrease dramatically, making the company more profitable and you guessed it more valuable for a sale. 6. Glen is a very smart guy and is getting over on everyone.

Yes Glenn owns the property and leases to the holding company. The facilities have been sold off bc seemingly they still had debt. The assumption is that they are in some stage of sale discussions

It was never about soccer with Glenn.....it was always about the real estate.
Best case scenario is a big club like Barca buys the facility and Long Island can begin to have a real club with real licensed coaches.

I am no real estate developer, but after all is said and done how much do you really think this is worth if it is less than 40? Barcas approved project for Deer Park that fell through was for hundreds of millions.

Barcas approved project for Deer Park that fell through was for hundreds of millions. BOTN is expected to request from ECNL copies of SUSA's ECNL's boys and girls agreement. I am of the belief that a demand will be asked of ECNL sometime in April as part of an ongoing 'situation' between BOTN and SUSA.

They are leveraged and in the middle of several scandals. You know the usual illegal transfer stuff and referee bribes. However the training is excellent. I just don't see them buying anything.
