Was this sudden? Buddy working at Landtek out there in Bayshore said a few months ago they were robbed EM Prezy and a couple board members in a scheme that left LandTek group between 850k-1.2 Million in the hole for the Stan Ruppenthal Field Of Dreams project. Apparently EM put down a small deposit on the project, got LandTek to lay new turf, lights etc and then EM somehow could not pay the installments when it became due.

Project dollars disappeared long with board members and now the club president.

This is a bold accusation.

Bold indeed! There must be someone here that knows people at Landtek. This information could easily be verified if true. If false then shame.

cmon now... there is zero chance that is true. First off, there had to have been a signed contract. And if there wasn't Landtek (and EMSC) are incredibly stupid. Second, Landtek isn't just walking away from 1.2 million break of K without a fight. There'd be a lawsuit filed and there is no lawsuit filed (I checked). Third, signing a contract and then having your costs go up (which is what I bet happened if this allegation is true) isn't being screwed by EMSC. It's bad contract drafting.

How’s that for timing. They are about to lose ECNL. With all the other accusations leveled against East Meadow SC…now is a good time to walk away. Leave the bag for someone else to clean up.

Do you have any evidence, other then BOTN, that they are about to lose ECNL? Wishful thinking by a East Coast or LISC parent I think.

Hold on…. part of the conversations with the merger of Surf and EC were conversations with California Surf about squeezing EC Surf into the ECNL in lieu of East Meadow.

The issue for East Coast would be facilities and the DOC with an A license and probably other areas that I am not familiar with, but be very clear, East Coast is laser focused on ECNL.

Do I think they will get it? No.

This is news to everyone, as EC's John K tells all parents that ECNL is a joke and not a good league. I guess he says that so parents don't leave.

How can the Slammers be considered for ECNL when they have to beg Smithtown for field space.

Slammers, East Coast, Surf, in reality, can somebody explain to me what makes any of those organizations special? And as far as Susa goes, smoke and mirrors again even with the ECNL, which in my opinion, an organization they are embarrassing.

This guy again. He has never said ECNL is a joke and not a good league, especially not to a parent. EC has been very clear that they would like to be in ECNL.

I wouldn't say there is anything special about any of these so call academy's. From my personal experience my child grew frustrated with her town team. I'm sure this is the case for most of the players now playing "academy" soccer. My daughter would spend her time away form the team tearing up my backyard to become a better player while most of the other girls where to get out of the house and hang out with friends. I think these organizations became the landing spot for the like minded players who could afford to to play for them. My daughter wants to play college soccer, probably D3, but her grades will put her in a spot to play at an elite academic college or university.

This can never happen. The dude that is replacing Mike was his right hand so if ya'll think he is going away think again. Its just Mike's puppet doing the same misdeeds nothing different. Yea good luck getting this dope to challenge Ruairi. Just like MIke, who's daughter was only playing on the ECNL team because he is the club president. The new dope won't want to change that since he needs his daughter to stay playing on the ECNL team. Ruairi is safe with this one and like i said its only Mike's puppets doing his bidding.

Ruari will never give up the ECNL badge. They pay his bills. He's a bigwig with ECNL.

I'm indifferent to the Slammers but they've only been around for 3 years as a functioning club. At least, cut them that slack.

Also, having said that, I was in a meeting when Slammers was brought to our club (which we no longer belong to) and I asked was the endgame to get ECNL. They (the club's board) were very circuitous in their answer and did not either say yea or nay. Just that Slammers would get the players into better leagues and tournaments without definitely saying ECNL.

Now, we've been gone for years now and it is possible that is what they're selling now but it was not what they were selling in its infancy.

As to the point of EC/Surf or Slammers getting ECNL in the near future, go look at the ECNL application and the criteria for acceptance. I would say easily in 3 to 4 areas (out of 6) that both clubs are severely lacking (history of player development, history of success, licensing of coaches and infrastructure). In other words, they are not getting ECNL/ECRL this year or for several years.

Called LandTek on their main line and was sent to someone high up that confirmed that the East Meadow Soccer project left a bitter taste in their mouth. Without much detail they were clear on what was agreed on materialized as a nightmare with the club not being forthcoming with the bill. LandTek said that the funding source disappeared and East Meadow Soccer were unable to honor their financial obligations for the job. They did not want to release any names or amounts just the general account above.
Take it for what it is but something went down between East Meadow and LandTek for the renovation at the Stan R-Field of Dreams. Maybe someone who knows about this from the club will give some clarity on what really happened. Above seems to be 1 side of the story.
