The full story is posted in the 'Roll Away The Stone forum'.....

"Our investigation has revealed a league in which abuse and misconduct—verbal and
emotional abuse and sexual misconduct—had become systemic, spanning multiple teams,
coaches, and victims. Abuse in the NWSL is rooted in a deeper culture in women’s soccer,
beginning in youth leagues, that normalizes verbally abusive coaching and blurs boundaries
between coaches and players."

The full story from USSF is posted is posted in the 'Roll Away The Stone' forum, the actual FULL REPORT by Sally Yates, and a must read especially for parents of female players can be found HERE

Check out page 14 of the Yates report. It is dedicated to former SUSA advisor Paul Riley.

Sad to think this is probably tip of the iceberg and how many sick older men get away with coercing young girls into sexual relationships.

If you read the entire report you will find that besides the sexual aspect, verbal abuse is also called out and how many of the trainers and coaches on Long Island are guilty of that...SUSA's group has certainly been called out about that most notably Kozy and JR Balzarini.

Have you read this post? Says a whole lot.....

With that accurate thought in mind, how about his coaches that mostly went to and are still at SUSA? Riley, I'm sure while on the Island had complicit trainers and coaches who were reported repeatedly on BOTN (those posts are still here) about the verbal and emotional abuse, and those allegations continued after selling out Albertson to SUSA.

It was all reported in your words and those reports/posts are all over BOTN. I'm sure if you have been a user of BOTN over the past 7 or 8 years you have read them and possibly it was you who made those posts?

Larry, this report is great, I wish it came out sooner. The verbal abuse and control methods some of these predators use are just a gateway to their sexual misconduct. This behavior is at some of these clubs and schools. So many people (parents, club owners, teachers, school athletic directors, other players, etc..) looking the other way and excusing the behavior. You will hear, that's he is a tough coach and he will make my daughter more prepared or this or that is pure ignorance. There is no place for what is going on in front of all of us. I have spoken up, removed my child and moved them away from toxic environments. This is soccer and I wont abandon my duties as a parent for anything let alone a sport that should be fun and the sport serving them not them being a servant to the coach or sport. Sports should allow chidlren to build on their character as they become adults. Kids dont need to be exposed to the bad and ugly.

How do we get an investigation of abusive coaches on Long Island? Let’s start a list of coaches that treat players poorly.

I’ll start with the usual suspects.

Kozy
JR
Dan Kravitzky
Jamie Gonzales
Huntley

Let’s expose these cowards for who/what they are and see if parents have the guts to stand up for their kids well being or is “status” more important. After a list of abusive coaches we can start one of the good coaches.

What amazes me about the report is how another NWSL team was willing to Sign this despicable person just because he showed results in the win column.

This is way too common in all kinds of sports, accepting what would be totally unacceptable behavior just because a Coach knows how to win. It’s so ironic that he gets even more credit than his players who actually executed on the field even though they were being abused the entire time.

Can you also include which club (s) they are affiliated with as some of us are not familiar with these names alone?

there's a few others at SUSA I'd add to this list... Anthony Hargreaves being at the top of the list. In fact, I've never seen a coach more abusive to players than that guy...

Couldn't agree more with this statement that Anthony is the worst verbal abuser and soul crusher of kids I have ever come across. How about calling out all the enablers too? The abuse doesn't happen and continue without the enablers.

So before I list the enablers who I feel are just as bad or worse, I will list some other daises.

Rauri McGuinness- East Meadow
James Kelsch- Susa
Mervin Shade- Susa

Enablers:

Long Island Parents- Toxic ones that don't have a clue what healthy coaching looks like.
Glen Scheinder- Susa Owner
Moussa Sy- Susa co-president
Michael Cartier: East Meadow President
Michael Rizzi: East Meadow Vice President

Without the enablers the above coaches don't exist or have an opportunity to continue their reign of terror.

The enablers interest me more as they know fully well who they are employing but choose to ignore it.

Chris Ortiz-former college baseball athlete-now turned soccer coach.

-Understudy to Jaime Gonzalez at Farmingdale.

-Takes orders from Ruairi McGuiness on what skin color should be selected for his teams.

-Grooms the younger girls before transitioning to Jaime.

-Create a pay to play model with girls on his teams. "Come to my private sessions if you want to get on my team". "Train with me during summer break, winter break and an extra evening session every week for a guarantee to play ECNL"

-Overall bad hombre and disgrace.

I laugh at this list... Somehow its only SUSA and EMSC trainers that are the problems. While I agree a lot of those trainers have issues, maybe, just maybe, its something about ECNL parents that is a little wacky... just throwing it out there...

Really??? Read the quote below. These names have been tossed around here for years by multiple posters. The problem is not the parents, it is the environment these guys above create to justify and enable these different types of abuse.

"Our investigation has revealed a league in which abuse and misconduct—verbal and
emotional abuse and sexual misconduct—had become systemic, spanning multiple teams,
coaches, and victims. Abuse in the NWSL is rooted in a deeper culture in women’s soccer,
beginning in youth leagues, that normalizes verbally abusive coaching and blurs boundaries

yeah, like only SUSA and EM trainers and parents are the problem. Greed makes ALL organizations corrupt and there's not one without fault including the one you belong to.

From the looks of it just SUSA and EM trainers are the ones everyone cares to call out. No skin in the game but this is where the problem needs fixing. Revoke these folks from training little kids will be a start.

The point I was making is that ECNL parents are slightly nuts. There are plenty of bad trainers in sooo many different organizations, sports etc that are <insert choice word>. My only point is that people are only calling out trainers from two organizations. Why is that? I'd posit that they are the only crazy parents constantly posting on this board. Its no defense of the listed trainers, its an indictment of us.

My kids is not an ECNL player and never played for either clubs. So until I hear otherwise, I'm of the impression that these are the clubs where the problems festers. Coincidence that they are both ECNL as well. Paul Riley was associated with SUSA...not really seeing anything pointing to this being a crazy parent thing.

Paul Riley was also associated with Albertson. There a trainer at LISC (guy who looks like Eminem) who is bit of a jerk. I've seen trainers of the Auburndale, Surf, Stony Brook, and East Coast be complete lunatics as well. They aren't ECNL. The reason ECNL trainers are listed on here is because ECNL parents are nuts and need to disparage the other ECNL clubs as much as possible in order to make themselves feel better/justify their choices. To think the problem is only ECNL clubs is naive. Perhaps if we had more women coaches coaching girls, we'd be better off....
