Can someone please explain what happen to the Met Oval 2009 MLS Next team?

11th place in MLS Next league,
Winless at the IMG Cup scoring 1 goal,
and loses to USYS teams in scrimmage.

Talk about dumpster fire, one of the club’s administrators has her daughter training/playing on the team. I have daughters, I get it, equal rights but an MLS team can’t find a better abled bodied boy.

Most likely a big reason why the team is a mess. Parents see this and no doubt walked away.

Oh, you are one of those. A girl/female cannot be a stud!!! Impossible! She can be a great female player if that's what you mean.

The only thing Met Oval is good at is grabbing ex NYCFC players to make their older teams competitive. It’s obvious they can’t develop players. First year MLS Next team, FA Euro, has a better record.

MLS Next is awesome!

Why would a player leave NYCFC? If you haven't heard, no organization in NY or L.I can honestly say they developed a player. All players were with two or more clubs from younger ages.

Let’s not make this into girl/boy debate. MLS Next has about 80-100 players per age group between the 4 local MLS Next teams. Is there not 100 male players better then her or is she there because her Mom has been a loyal MO employee.

It stinks and so does the team.

Stop with the development thing. The only person who develops a player is "THE PLAYER" by sacrificing and busting their butt away from the formal training.

Idk, maybe no playing time or the club recruited the next new stud. Players at NYCFC don’t last forever there if you didn’t know.

Yannick loaded the MLS Next team with kids from MLS East. It's not a very good team and the record shows. They have been beaten by their NEAL team which is not very good either. Trust the process and keep sending us money over 45 kids on two teams juge money grab. I guess someone has to pay for Filippo the DOC to do god knows what

This age group only has two teams, Olympiacos in the city and Valencia on Long Island. I’m not even sure who is third because there is such a drop off.

Fun Fact: There is only one team listed below that has beaten all the others. It’s not NYCFC.

Met Oval MLS next plays soccer not kick and run game. All kids are great players. 3 of them was selected to USYNT camp. All about development. IMG Cup they score one goal but Laliga scouted 5 kids. Winning doesn’t mean everything.

You make no sense!

If Met Oval MLS Next “plays soccer not kick and run,” what do the other eleven teams ahead of them in the standing do? Is your logic that the league sucks and you are the only club doing right?

Let’s just go with the simple explanation…Met Oval 09 MLS Next is just trash. Yannick is a good supplemental coach, great with the 1v1 skills but his teams don’t know how to play together. They will get better when NYCFC starts cutting players and they land there. #Facts

I can agree they sometimes don’t know how to play together but I can’t agree MO mls next 2009 is just trash.

I’m guessing Gotschee is pounding themselves on the chest for tying NYCFC. Does that mean NYCFC is trash. Not sure how to read that. Thoughts?

Great job by Gotschee and Met Oval tying NYCFC and New England Revs this weekend. Too bad this will be the last year they play each other. Next fall, the MLS academies play in their own league. MO, Gotschee, and FA Euro all get regulated to the pay to play MLS Next division.
