The US Club Soccer sanctioning body has lost its final presence in our area with the last remaining league, the WYSL joining back to play their league games within the ENYYSA as a member league. The official letter is attached below for your perusal....

I see your confusion. Yes, ECNL is a program/league sanctioned by US Club. What I am saying is that if your club wants to play in a US Club league there isn't any US Club league to join in the Greater NYC area.

Both EDP and NYCSL burned that US Club bridge a few years ago. Now, with nowhere and no one else to turn to, EDP has applied to a league within ENYYSA, and Gary Grossman is calling clubs asking them to send him a letter that they would play in his league, and as a part of EDP they can play legitimately on Long Island and within Eastern New York.

READ MY LIPS. IT ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN.

The current ENYYSA leagues, LIJSL, EHYSL, etc, have to have a 2/3's vote for EDP to gain acceptance, and EDP and Grossman do not and will not have the votes.

Be careful buying into any sales pitch from Grossman. Gary Grossman is persona non grata within Eastern New York Youth Soccer.

1. Any insights into why? cheaper player fees due to scale of USYS vs US club? I thought USYS tended to be more expensive due to overhead of state associations, offices, etc. WYSL is an island (ahem monopoly) and doesn’t really care about who they card with. WYSL removed their poaching rules 1-2 years ago, which were in place for decades, I assume that came from us club soccer and not the local league, maybe that played a role?

2. There are still some teams in New York Club Soccer (formerly New York Club Soccer League, the GG league) that play in NY… I believe they are carded by US club soccer. Why would that not continue next season for that league?

PS Thanks for sharing the letter / news.

1. I have no idea if you are right, wrong, or somewhere inbetween.

2. Anyone can say they have a league. The question to ask is who is sanctioning your league. In the case of NYCSL, if it is still a league then it is sanctioned by SAY soccer and they are a 100% recreational league akin to AYSO. Teams can carry US Club passes, but why would they do that here since there is no US Club League in our area, and after both Grossman and Shilling totally [****] the USCS I doubt they would take them back or if they want to go back?

EDP is a New jersey league and they will not be allowed into ENYYSA in my opinion even though they are trying to get in. The ENYYSA member leagues do not want Grossman nor do they want to allow EDP into their house.

Grossman had everyone by the balls, and while he did rock the LIJSL, EHYSL, WYSL, and clubs in CT., he had to make a deal with EDP who were taking away te NYCSL market share forcing grossman at the midnight hour to abandon USCS our and get under the covers and snuggle up to EDP and Steve Shilling who had previously abandoned USCS a couple of years earlier.

While there is much reason to denigrate and bitch about ENYYSA they do not go out of their way to deceive or screw their member clubs and teams with these midnight soccer panty raids.

Joining some dots - does this now mean that WYSL is a pathway into the upcoming ENYYSA National Qualifying League ?
