The recipe has been to cancel practices, shorten practices, be arrogant towards their customers and lose every game. What a great business model.

And parents eat it up so they can say their kids play ECNL.

Something that has been overlooked in this discussion about the trainers having last place teams is that there is a lack of talent on the EMSC rosters. Don't get me wrong they have some very good players but the roster as a whole lacks the talent to compete at the highest levels of ECNL.

Isn’t it their job to develop talent?

If it is they are not doing a good job at it.

No - that is the job of local clubs. Their job is to assemble teams and then convince unsuspecting rubes that their kids just need to be on these teams to get that elusive full ride for soccer..

It’s a combo of talent leaving and not properly developing the talent that stays. Ex Can’t tell me every EM girls NL teams had a ton of players leave the past couple of years. Plenty of skilled capable girls on these teams to put forth a better competitive effort. Too many Teams have leaped frogged them at almost every age group with their top teams. RL the same situation. How and Why?

It’s really a waste of money to spend that much to get so little.

More like the who. They why is poor training and no motivation for the coach to improve. The how is if there's something ur not liking about the ECNL coach, they will tell you to go get your child in another club. Then mid season other kids leave. Then the next season he throws out the bathwater and pull kids once more from other clubs. Everybody knows they've got NL and RL teams who are uncompetitive.
Town teams have better talent and playing top level soccer. Don't waste your last 2 years of club soccer with EM. If your kids is still in it by this age know that no scout looks at players in last placed teams.
Believe nothing. It is all about getting you to commit so they have enough players to register a team at your kids age group to play. 2 games in and your kid become bench-for the rest of the season. No refunds at that point-your kid is on the bench at tournaments-scouts will never get to see them play-complain and your kids never see's the light of day. Next year comes around and your kids don't get invited back.

Time and money well spent.

It’s not the talent level but what the EM trainers are doing with the talent as a unit that’s not working. How does a team of 20plus players use a quarter of the field to train? When a team can only use a quarter or 3rd of the field to train / scrimmage how does that transfer well to game play? Can’t always scrimmage on a small section of the field and have that apply positively in a game. How many touches are these kids really getting when there’s a roster of 20plus on sectioned field?

Ex. how can they work on longer runs and through balls that mimic game like situations on a 30y x 30y field? Town teams have more field access. Not enough space to properly train at field of dreams and Farmingdale when they are cramming 3 or 4 teams at once. Need more field access. This needs to be addressed and a reason why many of the teams are not as successful this season.

This is actually a great point and also an issue with some town teams. I think it even negatively impacts the strength of the player's striking ability. Granted, they can work on that individually, but it should be something practiced. It is hard to do that on a 1/4 of a field and small goals.

A good trainer does not need that much space to teach players the most important part of the game - technical aspects in small spaces - that is what the game breaks down to if you really think about it.

Playing technical in small spaces is important but that needs to be complemented with game like experience. local trainers know this but succumb to the business side too often and pack the fiend with too many players.

They just have mommy taking care of business to keep their child on the field when maybe the child should see the bench. We keep down the players that have started to excel to make sure the ones that have plateaued still have a better chance because we don’t want to upset mommy.

If you don't like it, tryouts are on the schedule in every club right-go ahead and just leave. East Meadow will be better without you and any other whiny parents. We have a good thing going. Dont come here and mess it up for the rest of us. Just leave already. Best of luck to you and your kid where ever you go.

Who comes here to make friends, this is about 16 year old girls soccer games. Calm down and come down to PDA complex this weekend to the ECNL showcase and see for yourself. No whiny parents.

Our RL team at East Meadow has lost sooooo many girls in the spring season. After Jamie starting F-Bombing them I feel the girls lost their desire to play with everything else going on in their lives. Ruarri and the board at East Meadow did nothing to Jamie after he cursed the girls out and believe me it’s not the first time he did it. It’s sad these girls are playing because they love the game and Jamie acts like he is the Emperor of teenage girls soccer and East Meadow let’s him run with.

There’s going to be a shift downwards with the 06 RL team next season. Many core girls are burnt out mentally from the past 2 yrs with J G. There are parents that enable his behavior bc they need to stay on his good side but they are failing their daughters long term. How many aren’t returning? Another player just quit bc of the current situation. What a shame

Can someone please tell me why East Meadow allows this Jamie Gonzalez person so much rope? Is he there DOC also? It seems this entire 2006 thread is about him doing one or another horrible things? Can anyone explain this?

Ask Mommy who’s daughter wants to quit when she sat the bench for 5 minutes. She does no wrong and wants us whinny parents to leave.

Jamie is a man child who lives in the past and teaches little girls how to play soccer. He is a failed pizza maker with no discernible skills who can’t wait to tell you how he played Soccer at Molloy College, imagine that, actually bragging about playing soccer at a D2/3 school in RVC.

Who's to blame when none of his teams are competitive? It couldn't possibly be the coaches fault when the team cannot win a single game in the league. It's not the coach's fault they cannot keep talented players from leaving. It's not the coach's fault that the entire club is failing kids. Never the coach always the parents line's been played out. The whole team shouldn't have to suffer when coaches are driven by the money they contract out of EM. It's never about the kids. Gimme a goddamn break.

For an ECNL club that falls on the DOC. Something very wrong at EM.
Lemme show you what's wrong at EM? Look at the DOC comp in 2016 under Russel and watch it in 2020 under Cartier. Show me any business that can double a coach salary in 4 years? Parents at EM are blind sheep. Never the coaches fault and he is fielding piss poor teams, having kids suffer through his and his coaches antics. This is your money contributing to the problem. Giving them the power to do whatever they want whenever they want and using your money to fuel it.

Has no one noticed that Cartier’s daughter has had Ruairi every year and will have him again next year. Cartier pays Ruairi that ridiculous salary so he continues to coach his daughters team and play her. Ruarri has never coached a team for 3 years straight no team but Cartiers daughters team! Mind you this is a team that hasn’t won a game all year!

Cartier is using your money to grease RM’s palm while RM gives Cartier a daughter the special treatment. Why is that hard to believe? If your are still with that team you’ve gotta be the dumbest buffoon in LI soccer. He needs your money to fund this sheettt and make RM feel like a man. Everyone know what’s happening-they all feel they’re getting special treatment with RM as their coach. They don’t realize that he has a poor reputation in the soccer community. Loserville
