These types of arrangements almost never end well. With new teams coming over at U13, do they hire new trainers or is it just a change of uniform?

Sounds like more of a win for Surf - access to more fields and more older teams under their umbrella. Is EC's college recruiting process that bad?

How hard is it to understand that Surf coaches/curriculum/college path will be available to East Coast GIRLS as soon as they get to U13?

You do realize this is NY Surf and has no affiliation with the real Surf club. And my daughters LISC 3rd team just beat their Academy team 4-1.

You do realize you are wrong. If they use the SURF logo, they are SURF. No different than a McDonalds franchisee. It's still McDonalds dummy.

Dummy! Lol. Keep believing what they tell you. Unless your one of their coaches that still recruit at high school games.

This is a completely different deal than Met Oval. This is taking advantage of New York Surfs ability to prepare and place female players in college soccer. It is a fact that in each of their graduating classes, multiple players go on to play college soccer in D1, 2 and 3. After the merge with Sesa and the growth of the club to over 750 players and 65 plus teams, especially the girls side addition, an affiliation like this is important and needed.

So Surf 04's are aging out, 05 and 06's are two of the best teams around consistently making National finals in the USYS National League, 07's are very strong and the 08 and 09 teams are not competitive yet. Add now the 09 East Coast Chelsea team which is very strong along with multiple 2010-2014 teams via East Coast and Sesa and Surf has built a pipeline for their program. Additionally East Coast now has a National league to offer the youngers when they go full field. Key thing will be how Surf/EC handle the existing girls for each club- there will need to be some collateral damage from this.

Our decision to merge with East Coast FC was based on our shared goal to provide the best opportunities for Long Island soccer players at each and every level. We were looking to provide more opportunity on the older girls side. We saw in Surf another club with the same goals of elevating Long Island soccer and providing the same opportunities for our older girls program. Their track record in college placement is something that we wanted to provide to our female athletes as well.

The Surf 08 team is far from competitive. They have not won a league game and they have not scored a goal!

What's wrong with recruiting players? Happens all the time.

NY Surf's decision to partner with East Coast FC and FC SESA will help to continue our club mission:

As the East Coast operating affiliate of the San Diego Surf Soccer Club (serving the entire New York metro soccer market), New York Surf shares the Surf “Best of the Best” mission – to provide boys and girls players starting at young ages (U8/U9) with the best coaching and player development program in New York metro, from elementary school through college, working in collaboration with, not in competition with local, community soccer clubs, and provide this programming at the best college facilities in the New York metro area.

We can't wait to get started working with ECFC and FC SESA as we collaborate in building one of the strongest programs in the Region.

What kind of miserable person has time to write this?

Good job East Coast/ Surf / Sesa. Looking forward to seeing how it works out, hopefully the players will benefit.
