Yesterday afternoon some of the important academies on Long Island met to discuss and share their ideas about the new league that will replace the now-defunct NYCSL with ENYYSA. It was a very eye-opening meeting and I think we all left with our marching orders feeling very positive as this new chapter will give birth to the local academies here and local academies throughout Eastern New York will soon embrace.
I want to thank Richie Christiano for sharing the new structured pyramid showing the amended pathway to EDP, and the National League P.R.O., I also want to thank Larry who put it together, and for inviting me along with Kurt of Atletico FC, and the other academies.

Must of been a lot of egos in the room! Just 1 thing, WE HAVE ZERO ACADEMIES ON LONG ISLAND! Just wanna bees! Actually, there were no egos in the room...it was a very productive meeting at first blush. Everyone got to see the new pyramid of how this new structure will work from grassroots to the National PRO. The changes proposed by ENYYSA will and did include a lot of consideration to the "town" teams and clubs. I do agree with your comment about Long Island academies, but they do have a purpose which in too many cases is stretching their importance and abilities.

You know a great way to destroy SUSA? Ban them from playing in this new league, ban them from playing in EDP, Ban them from playing LIJSL they cant anyway now and all they will have left is ECNL which is only for the top teams. THe rest of the teams that are making them all the money will quit and go back to LIJSL clubs or the clubs that will be in this new structure. Larry why can not everyone come together and agree that SUSA is wrong for our region?

It is not the intention to destroy anyone or any business. That said, I did not invite SUSA when I was asked to put a group together for the first meeting. I will also say that SUSA may find this change not to their liking as they wont have Gary Grossman doing them favors unless they want ALL their games to be played in New Jersey.
I think the fact that SUSA was not given a chair at the table speaks volumes.
BTW, is it true that SUSA claimed to parents that they forgot to factor into their monthly $300+ fee an additional $600 per family for travel? The buzz I hear is that SUSA may be hurting for money......

Right here on Long Island in the new league unless they choose to play in EDP then they will play in New jersey. The number of divisions in EDP for Long Island teams/former NYCSL teams are expected to be reduced.

Guess what it's called travel soccer so we can play better teams instead of playing the same town teams over and over I dont think you get it? You will not be playing town teams unless they also join the league, however, BOTN will be selling Lincoln Tunnel reduced fare ticket booklets. Send me your name and address and I'll send you a price list. Let me know if you want a 50, 100, or 250 round trip book?

Larry why can not everyone come together and agree that SUSA is wrong for our region? Susa is just lying to parents about the opportunities for their child and then putting them on a C or D team with promises for the future. They work the egos. We all know parents see their children in the best light and they take advantage of that to charge ridiculous fees and talk the players into leaving their present teams where the player is growing and improving. They are taking over small irrelevant towns to train and charge higher fees, thus spreading the wrong message that higher prices are for better training. Glen is a money maker PERIOD. He is trying to change the LI soccer market and making parents think they must pay high costs. He is trying to monopolize LI soccer. Lets put a stop to this and NOT ALLOW SUSA TO PLAY for the protection of driving up costs and keeping the less privileged playing soccer too!!

As a Susa parent it seems cruel to not include one of the largest academies in the area. You come off as a hypocrite claiming to care for the parents and children as if excluding Susa doesn’t carry the possibility of negatively affecting us all. As I know Susa is not perfect, what club is but part of me wants this to blow up the face of all the pettiness

Guess what it's called travel soccer so we can play better teams instead of playing the same town teams over and over I think they are saying that this will be for the privates and the towns that are good enough to play there. Maybe just privates and divisions as usual 1-4, no favors top in D1 and so on. Maybe they will mix with top towns if they can play and privates. All I know is getting everyone under one umbrella is always good for all. Provides fair opportunities for everyone to advance as they earn.

As I know Susa is not perfect, what club is but part of me wants this to blow up the face of all the pettiness Dear SUSA Parent, It is not my or anyone else's problem if you bought into the SUSA advertising and public relations drama. Without exception everyone present, and those invited that couldn't make this first meeting were overjoyed that SUSA was not there. SUSA has hurt a lot of clubs and businesses with their bull [****] and it will stop after this Fall season. My guess is SUSA will not want to join the ENYYSA league as they would finally be held accountable for all their shenanigans of the past. SUSA had no greater friend and supporter of BOTN since it first started and they showed via Moussa that it was never appreciated. Now they can add my refund check for advertising here to help cover their losses, while you will probably be be asked for more dollars and forced to play in more of their camps and tournaments, which do not seem to be attracting applications from teams. As far as you wanting this to blow up, it will blow up right in your face along with the rest of SUSA family. BTW, have you paid that additional $600 to cover the cost of their losses?

A player on their Navy, Carolina or White doesnt even matter to the club except for money to support ECNL and pay overhead. You are on White. You are not going to ECNL, you are not getting a good coach or trainer, WHY do you pay the big money to pay for their fields and staff for the ECNL team??? Look at other clubs costs. They are significantly lower and I promise if you attend a session you will find another clubs A team training better than what you are getting. Does Susa tell you their fees are normal?

Check out other clubs prices and what you get for your money. There is so much better all over. They are working hard to get in parents heads that Susa is the best and you get what you pay for. Its just not true and if you look around you will see that. The biggest scammers are Susa. They have the money and Gary gave them the power to take advantage of soccer families. If this league can stop it...GOOD FOR THEM!

I can tell you that I told Moussa that the stench from aligning with Gary Grossman was bad business ad nauseam, but obviously it fell on deaf ears. I guess as smart as Glen and Moussa are their smarts were no match for Gary who played them like Clapton plays guitar!!

The better SUSA trainers go to their ECNL teams, this is truth!! Why in the world would Albertson and another very close town club hire SUSA for their programs? Training fees have gone up since last season as well as other things.

Susa on the boys side is a joke ! The DOC’s just lie to everybody!!!! They are extremely unorganized and don’t care about players. Just a $$$ pull.
Girls side is very competitive and more organized.

Guess what it's called travel soccer so we can play better teams instead of playing the same town teams over and over There is more than enough strong teams in every age group on Long Island. The problem is that too many teams that weren't any better than the top town teams in the past that weren't good enough to play at that level demanded that they be put in some sort of "premier" league anyway. So leagues like NYCSL formed to cater to those wanna-be teams teams and clubs and things like NPL and NYPL got layered on top of that. If we went back to a very simple situation where the truly top teams played EDP and everyone else played in their local ENYSSA league, then the top divisions in the local ENYSSA leagues would be incredibly strong, giving everyone more than enough competition.

Will players be able to card in both leagues like in the past? What two leagues are referring to? If it is ENYYSA and EDP or LIJSL for example they are all USYSA. Where there may be an issue which was discussed yesterday is the movement of players should a team play in two different leagues. I believe there will be some sort of limitation, but nothing has been decided. The rules have yet to be determined. At some point, it may make sense to offer a thread for suggestions from everyone prior to the rules being written to get community feedback. Yesterday was the first which was in-person with a core group of "academies" to start that process. BOTN will have no say nor any suggestion(s) about any rule(s).
