Hello everyone, curious about the tryout process for Valencia Academy CF that recently concluded...do they basically accept anyone that tries out or is it really competitive to get on one of their 2009 boys teams? Thanks for your feedback!

Thanks for your feedback! All of the "academy" clubs do not reject $$$$, I meant players. They will simply create another team and place them in a lower division. You think i'm joking? Look at Barca, Susa, lEAST tOAST as well as Valencia. They have multiple teams in the age groups. Stay with a town team, save your $$$ and develop.

Exactly The " travel sports" landscape has changed so dramatically over the last 20 or so years It's actually extremely disheartening Going back you had try outs with. Coaches and trainers evaluating players And yes read this carefully Tough choices were made and Kids got CUT
Now travel sports have become for anyone willing to write the check Depending on numbers at the in some cases predetermined tryouts aka money grab They will make as many teams as possible - in many instances the top teams are very good but the drop off after is enormous
And heaven help us they are labeled 1,2,3 or A,B,C
Look no further than Susa- soccer Yellow jackets lacrosse Jr ducks - baseball
All business- run by the $

My son and a few of his teammates were cut this off season. A good amount of players came to tryout and they told us in an email that it was a tough decision but unfortunately my son did not make team. This happened on almost every team. They recommended one of the clubs mentioned above. Just saying the uncomfortable cuts are still happening at places.

All business- run by the $ Not true. Kids are getting cut and at a large club like a susa, they are getting promoted and demoted. The ones that take anyone are Valencia and Barca. They dont get enough quality to make multiple teams but they mix levels that do not belong together to create a B team to pay for the A team.

Ideally, they want at least two teams but in a few age groups they don't get enough. You may make it this year but they will cut or demote you the next if they get more talent. Pro team, red or blue is about the same price. Only pro teams get coaches from Spain. Barca really doesn't promote tryouts well so the turnouts are mostly word or mouth. Training is good and they seem to try to develop the kids they get. I personally know of a few kids that were not offered roster spots.

the overwhelming majority dont cur when possible. they make another team, expand roster, have you play in another age group. Thats why most top team have very weak bottom of the rosters
