Does anyone have any information about the new ECRL teams that are forming? What the competition/structure/travel will be like? Thanks

Travel to the same clubs as ECNL. just play the 2nd teams. A lot of travel , some over night weekends. Competition about the same as EDP 1/2 , just different states and teams

False. SUSA ECRL 08 came in first place in the New England Conference and are heading the Northeast Championship this weekend. It is a very competitive league that surpasses town play.

Bias! Take SUSA out of it as they can easily field 6 teams at any age group. Fact of the matter on ECRL is simple, if your kid does has elite level speed and skills then ECNL is clearly where they need to be. ECRL has seen major dilution of talent in teams across the board(with the exception of SUSA who has a deep pool). EM/Farmingdale ECRL team is made up to keep kids who are still interested in the sport but cannot run with the big dogs and have a place to play. They've sent invite emails to girls on the EM 3rd and 4th team that plays in the lower LIJSL divisions. They have taken all the ECNL rejects that did not get an invite as well. As far as travel is concerned it is the still travel you will find for the ENCL squad of the same year. Expect weekends out of town in hotels during away games and the same during tournaments. Add that to the 4500 tuition bill, it becomes a very expensive endeavor for families with kids that might not stay with the sport. Cannot remember the other ECRL Teams in the region, but the above pretty much sums of the landscape.

I should have re-worded it. What I meant was SUSA being the exception as their talent and bench strength runs deep across Boys and GIrls teams. The other long island option isn't really challenge if you do not make it to their first team. They almost will pick anyone that can kick a ball across the field.
Other than those clubs, there are the CT and NJ ECRL teams.

SUSA's ECRL teams are not deep. These teams, for the most part (there may be an exception here and there) get beat regularly, and sometimes badly, by EDP teams. ECRL is not worth it.

Anyone who would waste their time playing ECRL is a fool. No championships, no tournaments, no good teams outside of SUSA and PDA. All you are doing is wasting your time and money.

SUSA and EM will tell you all the benefits of playing ECRL: you will get to go to ECNL Tournaments, you will get to play with the ECNL team, you will get top level exposure, etc... ALL OF THAT IS BS! I had both my kids playing EM ECRL and never once did any of that happen. Left and went to LISC. Best move I ever made.

ECRL is the B team for ECNL clubs and is only 2 years old. Its the former NPL teams for the ECNL clubs. The inaugural championships are this weekend at PDA. The northeast and New England conferences are playing for the championships at PDA and a spot at ECNL/ECRL championships in Florida in July. I think SUSA qualified teams at GU12, U13, U14, U15, U17 and U18/19. East Meadow qualified teams at GU13 and U17. World Class qualified at GU12, U13, U14, U16 and U18/19. Their conference play consists of PDA, SUSA, EM, World Class, CFC, FSA and, Scorpions and FC Stars of Mass. Seems like pretty good teams to me? And most of the teams are playing at the ECNL event at PDA the following weekend, as it was pushed back from Memorial day, so college coaches from Division 1 could attend, as the recruiting ban was lifted 6/1/21. Each parent/player needs to make the choice that works for them. And from watching and reffing some of their games, they are lot better than "just kicking a ball" or having a pulse is good enough to make the team. Some pretty good soccer, no different than LISC or other high level teams. I imagine the fees are almost all similar, so to each his own. Good luck to all teams competing this weekend at PDA!

So you must be a SUSA parent. You are playing second teams and except for Susa, no one is any good which is why they won every division. Bye the way, everyone gets into PDA so what's the big deal?

Pure money grab for pathetic parents who dream of their kids to hopefully make the ECNL team one day. Parents are fools and keep dumping money in the pipe dream....put ur money into their 529 plans but are too busy drinking the look aid!

Why would you waste your time playing ECRL when you could play for so many better clubs. Surf, LISC, Slammers even East Coast or Sesa are better options.

These teams will play at the same showcases as the ECNL teams. So the exposure is definitely there. It's a ton more than the town teams are getting. Florida just had 900+ coaches.

Your not playing ECNL, your playing ECRL and you don't get the same showcases

ECRL= the same quality as NYCSL. Above post is 100% correct as it lines SUSA and EM pockets and leaves your kids under the mercy of coaches like Beavis and Butthead at EM to determine if your child gets recognition or not. Pay them to privately coach your kids and they will be "stars" at the rest of the team's expense. They are going so far to play up their younger stars while kids of the age groups are devoid of the same opportunity and attention. Other posts all show the same thing with Beavis and Butthead at the center of the money grab at that specific club.

Ok, but let's say you have a showcase where 2 ECNL teams are playing on Field 1 and 2 ECRL teams are playing on Field 2. Which field will the college coaches be watching? In a best case scenario, any coaches that watch Field 2 are the ones that know they have no shot at recruiting players from Field 1.
