Recently experienced a Barca Academy Pro game and was shocked by how classless and disrespectful players and coaches were. The team got dominated (U17/Boys) and the wheels fell off. Players were looking to injure the other players, cursing and confronting opposing coaches, Barca coaches arguing with refs and opposing coaches. Barca coaches sat players as they continued to trail in the game. Surreal. Is this the culture of the club? Are the coaches trying to meet unrealistic expectations? Sad. Crazy. Is this normal?

It's a win at all costs culture for this club and other "academy" clubs. There is nothing wrong with winning but when things don't go your way, don't go out of your way to hurt opponents. BTW, there is nothing "Pro" about Barca Academy.

Barca parents overall are known to be some of the most obnoxious, but I’ve haven’t seen the kids behave the way you’ve described.

I've seen the 2009 boys argue with each other on the field. Very good team but a little bitchy with each other not really a team first atmosphere.

I have seen alot of games with Barca, my experience has been different. Usually the coaches are not very vocal with the team during the game and I saw alot of good communication of the players. Only time I saw them get agitated was on a really bad call or a hard tackle or foul. The descriptions though do vary from team to team, but then do not all the academy's and town teams vary with the coach. I watched a u14 game last weekend where the coach screamed so loud on every touch of the ball, yelled out every minor infraction against his team like he was on TV, arms flailing. It would be what you call a competitor to Barca in that "academy" level. We have all seen coaches even belittle 12 year olds. I have to say my impression was not a win at all costs with Barca, almost a frustratingly opposite of at the younger ages making them play out the back when everyone is just athletic and running them over. You would never see a lot of other academy's do that. Over the last few seasons, the games I saw I was impressed at how they try to play "Barca" style. While not always the best, or with the best players, real soccer people can see it on the field. Unfortunately most of the "soccer" people on LI are parents who have never played and just want Johnnie and Susi to run over the opposing players. Which works until they hit 16-17 and everyone else has caught up. I think in a few more years if they could get their act together with organization, they could really be a force. Shame I hear that they cannot organize anything, and that is what frustrates parents and they leave.

I've seen the 2010 boys argue with the ref to the point that he had to tell them to stop arguing every. single. call. I gave him a lot of credit, he was just shaking his head and laughing at them. Oh, and they were handling the other team pretty well, it wasn't like they were being slowed down by fouls being called against them.

They were also doing ticky tack bullisht things like standing directly on top of the ball when the opponent had a free kick (that earned one of them a yellow), kicking the ball away when they got called on something, etc. Like they all think they're Sergio Ramos or something. 10-year olds.

Clearly the person that started this thread hasn't been around the block yet. Calling out Barca is silly because this behavior is everywhere. As a Barca parent they constantly remind us about the code of conduct and teach the players to act respectfully. Do the players always follow the rules? No. Passions run high during games and individual players may get a little wacky. To say this is an organizational thing would be incorrect. I personally can call out numerous clubs, academy or locals, that have displayed unprofessional behavior during games that my kids played in. From dirty players and nasty coaches to unruly parents, there is always an issue. Boys or girls, it's the same thing. As they get older it gets worse. Soccer is not the only sport where this happens. Try going to a competitive basketball or football game. How many times do you personally question a ref, bark out something when a kid seems to rough, or curse under you breath when a bad play happens? Imagine what it's like for a kid who plays with all they have and it doesn't seem to be working. It's human nature so blame the kid not the club.

It’s not the other teams. It’s the 2004 team. That is the only pro team that is really a B team. The original 2004 pro was great and split up because the money guy saw the direction Barca was going and left with his sons. The other teams are good kids. The 2004 is not a strong team and the cannot live up to parents expectations now that they are the A team.

Barca U-16 boys cup game this past weekend they dominated this team from warwick. They were very respectful... may have been the fact they crushed this team but I saw no issues with how they acted or played.

The B2011 team is a mess due to parents involvement. Yes, you read that correct, parents involvement. You gotta see how some parents kiss the coaches a$$es and give them gifts such as liquor, inviting them over for BBQs , etc. Players have left because of this B.S!!

That does not happen so now you're making up lies, but to be honest, I don't know why anyone is still even talking about Barca, they probably have 1-2 years left in their lift line here in LI so its pointless to even talk about them. They don't have any top teams anymore and kids are leaving. Whoever started this thread has an obvious bone to pick with the club but its honestly boring at this point. Find something better to do like taking your kids to try out somewhere else.

What you referring to is one crazy nut parent from Brooklyn who keeps trying to lobby the coach from Spain but that did not work anyway as the parent is taking his kid out of Barca and going to another club at the end of the season.

Barca isn’t perfect but what club is? The parents on some teams have let their emotions get the best of them pertaining to their kids soccer activities esp the 2011 who was caught fighting each other physically. Seems to be a lot of jealousy of #10 from the outside looking in. Remember their just kids!

One of the 2011s better players had enough of the crap and left to Alby. Not sure Alby is any better but the ass kissing is kept to a minimum.

It's pathetic in itself that you keep trying so hard to start up the convo about b2011, no one cares about that 7v7 soccer lol. I think you should address more why the 07, 06, and 05 players are shoping around and most likely leaving Barca this spring.
