Another negative, these clubs want you to sign a 'contract"...WTF is that about? At this age??? All a player should do is register with a team, if they want to leave they should be able to. There's a caveat, if you leave, you lose your $$$/ Parents should not pay all fees upfront!! 3k is way too high for soccer. Stay at a town team and develop.

Unfortunately you get more for what you pay for in youth soccer. You can’t compare town development vs academy and we all know academy development on LI is sub par to say the least however again it’s far better than playing town ball

Not always true - many academy teams put together with the sole purpose of making money. Academy clubs with 3 teams?? C'mon - just don't want to turn the $$$ away. Those low level teams get beat up on and the parents paying the big money then have to complain - how is that possible?

The L.I "Academy" teams play town teams, so what is your point? Pay 3k+ to be on a big roster, less playing time? No Thanks!

Do you see the results when academy teams play town teams? The point is if your child is on a A or even B team at the top academy’s on LI they’ll more often than not out perform town teams, get it now?

Yes,the academy team will beat up on a town team 10-1, that result doesn't help anyone.

Academy or town team it’s what your kid does the other 165 hours during the week. Most parents think it’s the 3hrs-5hrs a week spent training with the team that will develop them unlike other countries where kids play soccer 10+ hrs a week. Spend more at a academy or save by going town either way it’s what your kid does additional that makes the diff. Backyard, park, footwork, pick up games with friends etc

100% correct. You can tell right away who plays with soccer ball outside of team practices. They are much more keen to what's going on all over the field, not just their assigned position. Control of ball is more fluid and not robotic--proper technique when passing or shooting.
