Too bad they didn't play at SUSA tourney, they would have played stiffer competition playing U11 had they faced Barca, SUSA, EMSC and Valencia. On a side note, there were a couple of decent town teams playing with each having 4/5 really good players, difference is there is a drop off in talent.

How is there stiffer competition? Susa won 13-0, 4-1, 3-1, and 5-1. The only game Boca Jrs would have been challenged in is against Susa. There is no competition in 2010 for Boca Jrs or Susa.
Truth is, EC Boca keeps ducking SUSA (Old Dix Hills). Reason is obvious, if EC continues to lose to this team, parents will jump ship to the better team.

Are you a ship jumper? Tell the truth...

As someone who doesn’t have a dog in the hunt, if the hunt here is mainly LI soccer.

I saw parts of the Carolina game several weeks ago against a non-LI team, the one where someone said that Carolina lost, and I believe it actually ended in a tie. Both teams were excellent. Talent all over the field, and both teams disciplined and well coached from what I saw.

Pretty exciting to see soccer played at this level by a bunch of 10 year old kids. Boy, what a difference from when I was a kid.

Was also impressed by the new SUSA facility, although it's not complete yet. It’s going to be something else when it’s done. Question: have SUSA’s fees increased in order to cover the cost? Or is this more of a long term business proposition for the builders?

Good luck to everyone this fall, and stay safe.

Most people that post that they don’t have a “dog in the fight” or a “horse in the race” always have one and are just parents posting about their own kids. This one seems obvious. But whatever. I guess it’s easy to say when nobody knows you.

Private training (from any organization) at this age is a waste of $$$. Dads, get off your lazy a$$es and take your sons to the park and kick the ball around, maybe bring along a few other teammates. Work on footwork, passing maybe even small games against parents.

Keep your top player in a town team where costs are manageable. Not just any town team, attend a tryout or a few practices to gauge talent. If you know soccer, make sure roster is made up of at least 60% players that know how to play, otherwise your son will lose interest.

What depressing way to look at life, cheer up, some of us don’t live based off of what “might not” happen 4 years from now.

Ps Susa Carolina is by far the best u11 team in ny(not debatable) but I’d assume the talent level of your son would have to really stand out to fit in. Go for a tryout best of luck
