What a crock of [****]. It would have been somewhat believable if you would have said your kid was given more academic money than athletic.
But, nooo, you had to come on here and insinuate that your kid was so good at soccer that a boat load of athletic money was given to him. I call bullshyt.

Cause then I would be lying. Schools have a cap on academic money per student but do not have a cap on athletic money per student moron. If he didn’t earn academic money he would of gotten an all athletic ride. But since he is also smart they were able to save some athletic money for someone else.

Sorry your kids have not been able to earn scholarships but it doesn’t mean it’s not happening! Several players from my oldest sons age group earned money like this. Your kids likely just play for SUSA where earning scholarships is unheard of

Why is it bull because your kid did not get a scholarship ? The weak NEW American mentality is to cry and complain. I am not the original poster, but I will tell you this, my kid will be a pro someday. Why ???? Because half of the battle is to believe and make choices EVERY day that will get you there. Congratulations to original poster and his son.

Thoughts on college ID camps

In my very humbled opinion, college ID camps are only good if you have had direct communication with the coach and he knows you are coming up to let him see you play. And by communication, I don't mean a blast email from the coach inviting you to the camp. I am talking about conversations with the coach about your grades and about whether you would be a good fit at the school. Basically all the boxes being checked by the coach in advance of your trip leaving only your kid's "tryout" in front of the coach. Just my thoughts...

Very clear and good thoughts. Otherwise it's good faith money not well spent.

This is false in today's recruiting world. Coaches will have limited time to see players at games, especially since they will be having their own spring season. Camps will become important in the process and may become the only time that coaches can see some players. Maybe your advice works in the pre-Covid world, but now it's simply wrong.

I didn't know the Ohio State Buckeye football team had a game last night? And 5-1 is a weird score for a football game...

Granted that the Slammers are very good, but they played an 03 team, where slammers are made up with some college boys.

That team is not the same team. They lost players and 2 of their best players were hurt.

They have 2 players that are 02 and the “college boy” is 02 who just started his freshman year. The score was 2-0 before he even got into the game. The level was not even close between the 2 teams. Spammers were missing players as well, that’s not a good excuse either. What other excuse do you have? BTW, how many 02’s did LGN have?

I was told there was 1 college kid on each side. LGN is listed as an 02/03 team on got soccer. Do they cry when they lose ? Did they lose because the better kids that did not play usually bring the half time snacks ???

That team went to the National Championship finals last year. No way that team from last year doesn't beat this team, or at least the match would have been close. 5 starters from that team are gone (3 left and 2 are hurt). All were key players and anybody who knows this division, knows that this match is not 5-1 with those kids. But the reality is that those kids weren't there and the game was a mismatch it seems.

Call it excuses, but if you take one half of the starting field players off any team, the team will be much worse. That's what happened here and the other teams and kids know it's not the same team. I don't care what the opinions are of the team, but winning 3 state championships and going to the finals of Nationals is not easy. Anybody being rational and not biased would agree with this statement. But that run is over.
