Thank you for stating the obvious...soccer is a contact sport. Yes injuries and fouls happen but occasionally you come across players that appear to be intentionally trying to hurt others and that is NOT part of the game. It is the responsibility of the trainer to discourage that behavior and teach the children properly.
In the situation above with the young LGN player, the coach was described as doing exactly what you say they should do. Nice job coach. Itâ€™s a competitive sport and is a good reflection and lesson for our daughters of real life. Everyone is different, some work harder than others, some will make less of an impact to those around them, and there will always be some who test the limits. Itâ€™s like that at all levels of competition.
