So it is said that SUSA's teams are getting booted from the East Meadow Tournament due to Covid 19 being spread there. Kudos to East Meadow!

Is it true? Did SUSA put money before the safety of the players when having Camps, Clinics, and practices?

This is truly horrible!!!!! Just more craziness from the SUSA Camp. They are still having camps there! Please people, keep your kids away from there!!!

No reputable facility is having Camps and Clinics indoors.

#SUSASTRONG teams all still listed as active teams. I expect it is just a nasty rumor in an attempt to hurt SUSA and benefit certain other club(s). Time will tell. Although the tournament will likely be canceled anyway due to the weather on Saturday.

Yes and they also had teams playing in a tournament in New Jersey last week as well despite mandate clearly telling teams not to travel out o f state. Small businesses are being fined for not following correct procedures. Will Susa be under similar sanction from US soccer authorities.

There have been cases at the east meadow tournament? How was that determined? Were tests done? If it was from SUSA folks, how was that determined? Contact tracing?

Please elaborate on your post.

On a more global level, If this is true, doesn't it also make the case for no school ball on LI in the fall?

Thank you.

Hi CJ, does EM have facts to back up their Covid claims? Or is it just precautionary because of the indoor training?

I don't have all of the facts yet. When I do, I will post them.

Nice try, but there was an email sent out telling parents to quarantine players as someone tested positive. So not a nasty rumor.

I have said many times before, it is WAY too soon to have sports in school or in the fields, for that matter.

This is just an irresponsible post trying to stir the pot. Susa followed proper protocols as far as I’ve seen.
Did you really expect a season with no one from any club getting sick? It’s just impossible!
They saw who was sick and shut that team down along with teams that had siblings in the team with the positive case.
No need to shut down entire club. Please stop and thank you for at least not being an anonymous

This pandemic is not going anywhere any time soon. Schools are starting next week so there will be more and more positive cases and kids will get infected. There is no doubt. What will matter most is how these cases are dealt with and what is done to mitigate any further spread within a classroom, to within a school. To start making up stories before we have any facts and to start spreading fear for no real reason is going to be the bigger issue. We cannot close schools down because of one case or because someone knows someone who is infected. The same goes here as well and for all youth sports. We will not get through this Fall school year with this kind of reaction or with this attitude. We all need to work together to manage this crisis. If you can't handle that than you should not be active in any group activities. But people, we need to figure out how to live again.

Riddle me this, if they have follow protocols then why were they in New Jersey when it’s been clearly stated that no team should be traveling out of state?

So here we go with the people out there who just want to shut everything down based on no facts and no real evidence. If SUSA and EM shut down a few teams because of a positive case then kudos to them for doing so. But we cannot shut down tournaments and shut down clubs and lock ourselves up for the next 6 months. Kids will get sick in school this fall. We will need to take it case by case but there is no need to start a panic train here and throw blame on youth sports or people that are looking to get their lives going again. This kind of post will not help us get through this Fall and Winter. I could care less for SUSA or EM but this kind of post is hurting all of us. There are rules that we will all have to follow. If the rules are followed then there shouldn't be an issue.

Likely purpose of post: Leave #SUSASTRONG as they are irresponsible and unsafe and come to our responsible safe club.

sh-t stirring nonsense, this. If they broke rules and it can be proven, kick them from a tourenament. But that doesnt mean every team. YOu people all go shopping at walmart all pandemic long and all of a sudden one kid on one team can get sick and you want the entire club pulled from playing? Do you not see that you are and will be exposed to the virus (the one with the 99.5% survival rate) for the foreseeable future? I mean i am all for caution but this here is looking for guarantees where there are none.

I have heard from a very reliable source that so far this week 2 girls on the Susa 2006 ECNL team tested positive and they have relatives on the Girls Susa 2007 and 2008 ECNL teams. I also heard the coach of the Girls 2006 ECNL team has also tested positive. If this is true what a mess.

And all of the susa teams share training fields/areas so how many other SUSA teams have positive cases as well?

There is no mess to be had if they shut things down quickly. Positive cases get the attention of the Nassau County Dept of Health. Contact tracing is performed directly by the County. People and teams are shut down when they need to be shut down. And that's it. Everyone else will move on and continue with their lives. This is the protocol moving forward. I am a school teacher and I know what the procedures are for this coming Fall. If we don't cause unnecessary panic we can continue with our lives, with schools, with sports, etc. Come on people. We need to be adults here. We can't let this pandemic get the best of us.

you don't get the virus from someone in the same park with you on a field hundreds of feet away. stop trying to create panic where it doesn't exist. you need to be in close contact with a positive covid patient. Even then, if you are outdoors, the chances of you getting the virus isn't great. Those who are in close contact are shut down for up to 14 days so that they don't spread it in the event that they actually do catch it. Have we not learned anything about this virus over the past few months. We cannot lock our children up in their rooms forever. If you personally can't handle it than you have the option to remote learn and just stay home.

Susa did the right thing here. Susa pulled out of the tournament with the 07s and 08s because players had siblings on the 06 team affected by the virus. They pulled out for precautionary reasons. Susa did not put money over safety.

Ok here's an idea - pull those teams from competition, have the positive players stay home until their virus passes, the rest of the team shuts down for two weeks and we all relax.

None thus far which is the best case scenario.
