And thankfully Cuomo rebuffed this effort today. He said the released guidance was for Districts that wanted to play HS Sports. If a District or Superintendent don't want to play HS Sports, "don't do it."
So Cuomo is not going to bail out the Superintendents/Schools en masse. They will have to make their own decisions - and face parental reaction to it. I hope more parents of athletes speak up and bring pressure to play the sports that NY state is permitting. Enough is enough. Covid rates are ridiculously low and transmission rates outside and among kids is even lower. Let's get on with things and life. If you don't like it and want to be 100% safe all the time, stay in your house with a mask, gloves, face shield and bio hazard suit on. Have fun with that.
