A player panel so the clubs can remove any doubt as to who their little pets are! Not likely to go over as well with parents as they might have thought.

What does that mean exactly this GA Team reps selection? What is a girls advisory panel? If someone can explain without being mean.

Each club and team gets a representative so when decisions are being made as to what the league should be doing, they get to hear what the clubs want. This is so the league is run in the best interest of what the clubs want and not just run by some board locked in an ivory tower making decisions without knowing what the clubs want the direction of the league to go in.

I think that is a great start to listening. The problems and the downfall of GDA was arrogance and not wanting to listen to what the leadership in the clubs had to say to improve the league. At least they will now get feedback from a group of players and the club itself and will listen. That is a good start.

Just watch ECNL attempt to copy this model shortly as they begin to realize the GA is engineering a modernized and progressive model built for future success with a strong network.

Just watch ECNL attempt to copy this model shortly as they begin to realize the GA is engineering a modernized and progressive model built for future success with a strong network. Big difference between the ECNL model that has succeeded and the US Soccer model that failed. On the contrary GA is now going to follow the ECNL model that has succeeded by listening to the most successful clubs that has formed the foundation for their success in all four regions of the country. The GA is smartly looking at what made ECNL succeed. That’s a good thing for GA. As been said on earlier posts about GA, they need to form there own path to succeed without going in direct competition with ECNL. There is plenty of quality clubs out there and GA should just worry about there brand and not compete against ECNL. They need time to build up the brand and to encourage players, parents that this is a good league. That will encourage players either to stay or join clubs/teams already in this league. Each year having jump from league to league or team to team is not what GA is looking to do. It will take time but it can succeed.

Unfortunately GA is building it on a foundation of horrible clubs. What is your definition of a horrible club. NYSC, NEFC, LIFC, Oakwood, etc. are solid clubs. One persons bad experience does not make the club horrible. This is what starts these posts from going nasty. As you term horrible clubs is based on your own experience. The GA clubs for the most part are all solid clubs. The same way people can call ECNL Clubs horrible as well from their own experiences the GA wants build to build a program from the ashes of the DA. The foundation is there to succeed in the long term.

Tophat, Nationals, Legends, IMG, OL Reign, Lonestar, Houston Dash, FC Virginia, Sockers FC, the list goes on....and btw with many GNT players and top 25/50 school D1 commits in the pool as well and an exciting outlook. Tremendous progress in a small period of time since April.

Everyone has an opinion. You are judging before the GA has even started. Talk in 3 years to judge how the league either grows or not. Making a judgement now is your own opinion based on nothing. Here is something to think about, there are those that think certain ECNL Clubs are garbage. Just because they play ECNL does not make them good teams.

ECNL could kill off this league in ten minutes if they decided to take nefc, Tophat and tsj Virginia. You few people have the mentality that ECNL rosters from 1-25 are better than a GA or any other league roster. The truth is the bottom 1/2 of most ECNL rosters individually are no better than any other league rosters. You think because you “pay to play” that those players are better because they are on an ECNL roster. Just not true. It’s usually those bottom half roster parents who feel the need to go after GA or other league players.

Btw, GA teams smacked around their local ECNL peer teams all weekend long in arranged friendlies all across the country. OK, we’re now ready for the excuses.

ECNL could kill off this league in ten minutes if they decided to take nefc, Tophat and tsj Virginia. Both leagues are fine, but the truth is that any club would jump at the chance to get into ECNL so if ECNL wanted they could take a few teams and end it. They are just more established right now and that is the fact.

The point is just because ECNL takes a club does not necessarily mean that they are better than a GA club. The same way there are clubs playing ECNL that are not as good as some GA Clubs. The difference is that ECNL College showcases and events are the top in the country. Let’s see if colleges will attend GA events the same way they attended DA showcases and tournaments. GA has not even began yet do let’s see. They have good intentions and that is a start.

All I know is the GA team my daughter plays on beet your ECNL teams and beat ECNL’s Number 1 ranked team in the NE pretty handily so whoever made that comment is obviously a parent who’s kids plays on an ECNL team and must feel threatened by a real league
