This will al be a disaster! There will be a flurry or Fury players (see what I did there) leaving in droves once the dust settles.

That's a good idea - send them even more money before anyone knows where this pandemic is going. Wtf is wrong with these clubs????

That’s Susa being Susa! What is wrong with the PARENTS? They can come back long after their kids have graduated and see what they funded in central islip!

Why isn’t Eric Schmidt staying with SUSA as part of the merger? Saw post today he joined LISC as futsal director.

Based on what I have been reading from you folks Eric Schmidt is not well liked. Didnt he screw over parents for futsal money at his place in Massapequa? I did tell Meghan via email about 2 hours ago this was not a good move, IMO. If I am wrong let me know.

It was Paul’s place in Massapequa, Eric just ran the place.

There were numerous posts chiding ES, so that is all I know about him. I do know that there were issues with the Futsal place and that it was not part of the Fury sale.

Eric is a nice guy and a good foot skills trainer. He is interested in player development, always has been. He didn’t fit in well with slimy Albertson and got pulled into the nonsense there. Eric is extremely positive and encouraging to children. IMO he is a great fit for LISC.

ES certainly did not do that. He is a great technical footwork coach. Great at Futsal. Certainly brings a lot of energy to every practice. My daughter is at LISC and she was very happy to hear about ES.
Some parents had issues because he trained to develop girls and not just win games. ANd parents just like to win. SO if the team loses and they think ES caused it then they won't like him.
SUSA just lost a great technical coach in ES and kept some of the other stinkers. I heard SUSA was not treating the 'new' coaches well. The ones that have value, like ES are finding other places to go. The stinkers that have no value will remain at SUSA. Not great for the SUSA clan.

Not so fast Tanto....ES is just as slimy as PR. Ask the parents who paid for futsal tournaments while he gave free rides to his friends just to get them in the door. How he won those tournaments with non Fury players. How he can't coach 11v11 and admitted that he's a better futsal coach than soccer coach. And what exactly are his futsal qualifications? How about not developing his older players the last two years, fostering an environment where his players were turning on him because he couldn't manage those same bratty players - he just fed their ego while at the bottom of the standings for two years. No accountability. He is the epitome of Mr Political.
Buyer beware....let him stick with the u-littles.

Eric was great as a futsal trainer and that is it lol his futsal leauge was a lie and a disaster, the same teams showed up
Each week different ages playing up down and sideways, he tried his hardest to make it work, but he’s coaching and being the ref at the same time while also making the schedule lol he made alotttttttt of promises which turned into 2 yrs of nothing being what was told to anyone, he was at Massapequa then fury now LISC and I know for a fact parents who chose LISC who saw he was there now are very skeptical hopefully Meghan Frey runs the whole show and doesn’t let him do anything but train

Yeah, Eric Schmidt is not a good guy or a good soccer trainer...maybe decent futsal guy, but 2-3 months of a decent futsal trainer isn't worth the stain he will leave on LISC. Made lots of promises to Massapequa players, wiggled his way into Albertson ECNL 2.0 (when GDA launched and most top Albertson Club players went to Fury FC) which was a complete disaster, then was even more disastrous with Albertson GDA. He's your consummate wheeler/dealer kind of guy, bad choice for LISC-a club with a lot of promise & potential. Meghan should really watch her back with this guy and make sure he doesn't destroy what she and others at LISC have been working so hard to build.

“ in my opinion”
Who are u? Not asking names but do you and your kid play under him? Where? Give us more specifics than the usual anonymous unsubstantiated post.

You make sense. There was all sorts of politics where he didn’t play teams together and brought up younger kids to play at older ages when there were available players in the actual age group while not even offering kids on the actual team to participate. So clearly he cared about winning and not so much development

The other question that bringIng ES in as Futsal director leads to is is what happpend with Danilo? Didn’t LISC have an affiliation with him last year? How can having Eric be better than Danilo?

Ever try doing business with Danilo? Skill set may not be all that is involved.

The older Fury players who stayed, all 15 of them across multiple ages, are now an afterthought as the C team and wondering if they should still stay.
