UFRISCO, Texas (June 30, 2020) — The USYS North Atlantic EDP Conference, one of the 13 Conferences within the USYS National League, is excited to announce the boys clubs that will compete in the Club vs. Club Divisions for the 2020-21 season.

The standards-based North Atlantic EDP Conference Boys Club vs. Club Divisions will include 11 clubs, with each club fielding a team in the 13U-19U Boys age groups. The 13U and 14U teams will compete in a season spread out during the fall and spring, while the 15U-19U age groups will play their full schedule in the spring.

The 11 clubs include: AC Connecticut (CT), Barca Academy (NY-E), Brentwood Soccer (NY-E), Brooklyn Italians SC (NY-E), Eastern FC (NY-E), NY Hota Bavarians S.C. (NY-E), Inter Connecticut (CT), NY Elite (NY-E), Quickstrike FC (NY-E), SUSA FC (NY-E) and White Plains Youth SA (NY-E)

“The North Atlantic EDP Conference is excited for the inaugural season of Club vs. Club Division play, and we are happy to have 11 well-qualified boys clubs ready to participate,” said Jen Marcella, League Manager for the North Atlantic EDP Conference. “The Club vs. Club format has been successful in other Conferences in the Northeast and around the country, and we expect that to continue with many highly-competitive divisions in the North Atlantic EDP Conference.”

In the North Atlantic EDP Conference, the Club vs. Club Division winners will meet the winners of the team-based Premier I Division to determine the conference’s representative to the 2021 USYS Eastern Regional Championships.

Each of the National League’s 13 Conferences, including the North Atlantic EDP Conference, provide a pathway for their top teams to advance to their respective Regional Championships. Conference teams also have access to the new National League Showcase Series, which provides teams with a chance to play cross-conference matches in a national setting with increased exposure to college, professional and national team scouts.

Not really.

There are two sets of divisions, team vs team where individual teams are promoted or relegated based on their own merits and club vs club where the clubs are guaranteed a position in every age group regardless of the merits of their individual teams.

I'd argue that you'll get better competition overall in the team vs team top division because every team earned it but many of the top clubs are in the club vs club so there will be some outstanding teams there too.

Based on knowledge of the teams listed I'd say you are correct that team vs team has some outstanding teams in their division. Spot on post.

Who cares, all of those teams are a waste relative to the old DA clubs and the ECNL teams.

A waste? Not so. Those clubs and others like them fed kids who went on to the ECNL and DA teams.

Brentwood?! Eastern? C’mon. Please don’t start the Gary Grossman lets-play-favorites-to-whoever-we-know-best BS. I guess it was just a matter of time since he’s now helping to manage the league. 🙄

Add to his favorites list the Brooklyn Italians and Quickstrike. Some things never change.

We left NYPL / NYCSL to get away from that nonsense. Please don’t let him screw up EDP too.

I think WHORES is the right descriptive word when it comes to all these leagues and academies.

What’s the issue with Quickstrike? Well run program with great coaching.

Thank you Quickstrike for this post. Your club has a national footprint and worshipped coast to coast. We are aware that every QS player gets a full ride. Keep up the great work. 🤪

Eastern had younger teams kicked out of NPL, those were worse in Metro, older teams continued to perform poorly in NPL, so what happened? GG gave them NPL back. Purely a football decision.

I think there might be some tournaments in the fall that use privately leased lands, but I don't think that school ball or club seasons will happen until Spring 2021.

I think frequent local tournaments is the best format for the Fall.
Logistically may be easier than running the leagues - more flexibility for teams and organizers.

I posted in another thread but no one responded and I’m really looking for some feedback...what are people’s thoughts about fall season or even spring season for that matter? Trying to decide about registration.

Just want to put this question out there because I truly don’t know if what is being asked of me is reasonable and our family like many has been subject to pay cuts, etc due to COVID so we don’t have $$ to throw away at this time.
Local club travel registration cost for fall 2019/Spring 2020 was $360. Obviously spring season was cancelled, but the club only offered a $50 credit because they claimed they needed to cover other expenses, league fees (Long Island Junior), etc.
Now registration is open for Fall 2020/Spring 2021. The club is asking for the full registration fee upfront minus the $50 credit so total $310. They are not providing any guarantee that we will receive any of this $$ back if seasons are cancelled. Multiply these numbers by 2 because I have two children playing.
I feel stupid blindly handing over money again, but I also don’t want my children to miss out. Just looking for some feedback, I’m one of those people who just usually goes with the flow and follows the rules but something about this seems off to me. Thanks for any input!
