During this time of pause, Stony Brook Soccer Club has been working on many exciting initiatives in anticipation of re-opening our club.

We are excited to announce the following:
Stony Brook SC merges with Atletico FC for all age groups 2009 – 2002

Stony Brook SC phased approach to resuming activities

Stony Brook SC announces 2020 – 2021 Intramural season registration fee of $20
SBSC merges with Atletico FC for all age groups 2009 – 2002

Stony Brook Soccer Club and Atletico FC have successfully negotiated a merger of the Boys and Girls teams for all age groups 2009 – 2002 to be effectuated Fall 2020. This will allow the club to compete at the highest level possible across every age-group and gender. We are extremely excited about this merger and look forward to getting back out onto the fields.

Following the guidelines of US Soccer and New York State, Stony Brook Soccer Club may be able to start training our players as soon as July 13, 2020. In anticipation of re-opening, we have opened our registration system for players to enroll for the upcoming 2020-2021 season.

SBSC announces 2020 – 2021 Intramural season registration fee of $20

Stony Brook Soccer Club has decided to reduce its intramural fee to $20 for the 2020 – 2021 season in efforts to give back to the community and provide our children a place to play the game they love.

So is Mark going to train Kurt or Kurt going to train Mark? Lol

All Boys and Girls teams 2002-2009 will be rebranded Stony Brook Atletico SC. So it’s a full on merger in those age groups.

Very good training for the younger ages !
It's cheap compared to other non town teams.

Just say yes Larry. It they do not know at this point after the years or people asking this stupid question just say nothing or yes.

The poster asked if this merger or Surf, (it was not a clear question), was the same as SB Atletico, and I responded it was not even close, and SB Atletico isn't. Obviously the poster doesn't understand the landscape or the names of teams. What is SB Atletico anyway, just another for profit moneymaker for someone taking advantage of clueless parents.

Too many parents, teams, and clubs just got dumped on by NYCSL and now play for a league headquartered in Brooklyn. The CJSL record with girls soccer is abysmal. They only let girls in a few years ago.

Thank you for clearing it up- I was confused because there is also an SB Smithtown Athletico as well and I wasn't sure if that still existed in light of this SB and Atletico news.

My daughters 2010 team played sb athletico last fall and it was Stoney brook athletico

And the merry go round that is youth soccer keeps spinning along. But good luck to those guys, hoping egos don't clash and ruin things along the way.

The following clubs were all separate entities.

Smithtown Kickers
Atletico FC (KK Athletics)
Stony Brook (Three Village Soccer)
SB Athletico AKA SB Smithtown Athletico

That last club is where all the confusion comes from. Not only do they have Smithtown and Athletico in their names, making confusing them with the Smithtown Kickers and Atletico FC easy, but they also inconsistently call themselves different names, sometimes SB Athletico and sometimes SB Smithtown Athletico. Someone seeing SB Athletico would easily confuse that with the Stony Brook Atletico partnership.

They were still separate teams 1 from KK, 1 from Stony Brook. Now they are merging all the top players together in each age group.

What idiot names a club after 3 other clubs??
