Does this mean the earliest soccer would not be until the fall?

Does this mean the earliest soccer would not be until the fall? Most of the leagues have already canceled so that's the default already for most players. But if you ask me there won't be sports until next spring.

Does this mean the earliest soccer would not be until the fall? It just means that their insurance policy is valid through August, but they aren't allowing their members to play until the government says so. Since you don't have their permission, you will not have access to their insurance, even though it is technically valid.

While leagues have canceled, some teams/groups of players are still practicing or having informal training sessions without field permits, permission, sanctioning, etc. and against various government orders. Seems like just a little CYA.

Cancelled I didn't get an e-mail or see anything on their website about it. Can you please post their statement so that I have something official before starting to issue refunds?

Seems like all NY metro clubs have officially cancelled their spring season, except Westchester (WYSL) which has been crickets so far.. EDP hasn’t cancelled yet, he’s it? Cancelled That's inaccurate. They are delaying, they have NOT officially cancelled. "Tournaments & League Schedule Updates -- May 1, 2020 In accordance with guidance from US Youth Soccer and the local state associations within the EDP footprint, EDP is continuing the delay of the start of the EDP League season until at least May 17th. With that date in mind, you can view a few scheduling options click here, which are being considered based on when it is safe to resume league play. These scheduling options will take into account – and may need to be adjusted – on a state-by-state basis, based on decisions made by state health and safety authorities/local state association guidelines. As we have mentioned in previous communications, when league play does resume please rest assured that it – like tournament play - will take place with stringent health and safety standards. Sincerely, Jen Marcella, Executive Director of Leagues, EDP Soccer"

EDP is simply stretching this out with their balls crossed hoping to schedule 2 or 3 games and keep your money. It isn't going to happen and if they "slick" in a few games that will be very nasty on their part and show their true colors. I spoke to Steve Shilling. Our conversation was very candid....Steve knows where I stand. As a result of their handling of your money BOTN no longer accepts their advertising dollars and EDP has been sent packing.

I know that and you know that, and they know it too, but my point is that they haven’t officially announced it or communicated it to their member clubs.

They have a payroll that is huge. Just in this short period of 2 1/2 months EDP has to abandon leagues from Mass to VA, not just Long Island. Add to that their income from being a regional big deal with USYSA, and about 8 tournaments. They will fight like banshees to keep your money and by offering credits insure you will come back or if not, they will just pocket your money. NYCSL, and LIJSL will do the same.
