ALBERTSON SOCCER CLUB INC./ALBERTSON FURY ELEVATE YOUTH SOCCER PROGRAM
Enter into Training Services & Collaboration Agreement with SUSA Academy
Albertson, NY - April 20, 2020 -- Albertson Soccer Club, Inc. has contracted with SUSA Soccer
Training to provide turnkey Director of Coaching, team coaching, and club training services.
Flavio Ferri will become the Albertson Soccer Club’s DOC while Paul Riley enters into a new role
as a Technical and Recruitment Advisor assisting Albertson and SUSA. While Riley will be stepping
away from day-to-day operations at Albertson Soccer Club, Albertson Fury and SUSA players will
continue to benefit from his vast NCAA network of relationships for aspiring players who seek to
play at that next level.
“The goal is to work together to provide a seamless, like-minded youth soccer program for players of all
levels,” said John Wilson, President, Albertson Soccer Club. “This collaboration creates a Long Island
soccer powerhouse by bringing together the best programs and players from East & West.”
“I’m incredibly proud of what has been built at Albertson,” said Paul Riley, NC Courage Head Coach.
“This collaboration with SUSA ensures the best talent in the state now has access to unparalleled
resources and a fabulous platform to optimize their growth and development.”
Albertson Soccer Club’s Director of Coaching, Flavio Ferri, states, “I am thrilled to be taking on my new
role with the Albertson Soccer Club. Working alongside the SUSA staff and having access to their
knowledge, infrastructure, and experience will be invaluable.”
The new state of the art soccer-specific outdoor complex in Islip will open in the coming months.
“With the new location in Nassau County and the new contract with Albertson Soccer Club, who has a
long track record of producing top talent, we are excited to expand the impact we can have on young
athletes. Together we will help even more soccer players reach their goals of playing collegiate and
professional soccer in the US and abroad.” Said Glenn Schneider, CEO of SUSA Soccer.
The clubs will continue operations as follows; SUSA Academy (Suffolk County), and Albertson SC/Fury
(Nassau County and Queens), feeding into “SUSA FC” in the Girls ECNL, and “Albertson SUSA” in the
Boys ECNL. ECNL games will be played at SUSA’s new state of the art soccer-specific complex in Central
Islip, boasting fully lit turf fields, and full amenities. Non ECNL platforms will continue at their current
locations for the ease of families from both organizations.

Game Changer, big deal. Albertson was a failing club and PR gets some chump change to be an adviser that nobody wants.

Paul's final thrust in the a$$ to you Fury and Albertson parents. Taking his ball and staying in NC. But hopefully Susa can get their hands around things and make it better.

Just a bigger load of crap. Stretching far too thin , not enough good coaches in LI to support this. Just a monopoly built to maximize profits

The Fury GDA teams had no where to go other than ECNL since there is no GDA. Now the girls can continue at the top level with SUSA because Slick was not getting ECNL. Slick ran out of options. Slick was finished and the issue I had is Slicko did try and take the kids down with him, but fortunately SUSA came along and saved those girls.

I posted this yesterday On The Hanky Panky forum
Albertson & Fury on the Boys side have been average at best for the last 5 years. On the Girls side they have a few good teams, not a lot of good teams. Very few of the Girls top teams are Alby / Fury players since the pre travel age group. Bottom line is they rode the PR Gig as long as they could, its over now. Face the facts....He is out of state now, got his desired professional gig, he is not coming back to run the scam business on LI
Told ya!

Fury didn't have a ton of players but they did have some very high quality girls in each age group. If they all go to SUSA and play ECNL that is going to knock quite a few SUSA girls off the current ECNL teams. Might be only 4-6 girls in each age group but that will be tough to swallow for current SUSA players.

I doubt that. They couldn't get 15-20 quality players in each age group. they would end up with some very weak teams. I don't think that is the idea. Likely 1 ECNL team and then ECRL, EDP etc.

This is going to create a huge chain reaction with the remaining clubs as well. Also Will this marriage be like a reese’s Peanut butter cup? Clearly creating a monopoly. Monopolies not always good.

But that’s not what SUSA is promising in this buy out.

Welcome Alby to SUSA secondary teams. Enjoy playing NPL Or EDP... you can do that with any other club! Thank you Paul Riley for finally leaving! Sounds like a nervous SUSA parent to me. The idea of bringing both clubs together is not to make Fury the secondary teams. This means at tryouts they will be looking to pick the best 18 players period. This is about elevating the level of play. This is about bringing up the level of competition, plain and simple. When SUSA first got ECNL they immediately sent out a post on BOTN that they wanted ECNL players from other clubs who were looking for a fresh start. They let it be known they wanted ECNL players. Nothing has changed. They want the best players to be on each team at every age group. You want to be on the team then prove it at tryouts. I think they will pick the best regardless of where you played last season otherwise SUSA never would have done this deal.

There’s a better chance of hell freezing over than that happening. Here's a secret. There is no hell. Hell is a concept. A possible 2nd ECNL team is a possible reality.
