If your Italian , met oval is the place for you. Your kid will get all the play time, no matter how bad he is.
If your Italian , they will reach out to all the colleges for your kid no matter how bad he is.
If your Italian , You’ll be allowed to go play abroad with no problem. Your kid can come back and have his starting position.
If your Italian , Your kid can take 50 shots with 2 on goal. And he’ll get a. BRAVO!!!! That’s ok. Good. Good.

IN A NUT SHELL MET OVAL IS A JOKE. ALL PLAYERS THAT THEY SAY THEY SEND TO MLS CLUBS. THEY GOT THOSE KIDS DEVELOPED FROM OTHER CLUBS AND THEN POST IT TO GET THE CREDIT. ALL PLAYERS THAT REALLY CAME FROM MET OVAL WEREB SENT AND END UP RIGHT BACK MID SEASON. POLITICS AT ITS BEST IN THAT CLUB.

WAKE UP PEOPLE. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND STAY AWAY FROM MET OVAL. AKA. “ ITALIOVAL”. Unless your Italian. Then you should go. Bravo. Bravo. Bravo.

Boys and girls DA being terminated is the rumor, as soon as tomorrow. What does this mean for all DA clubs?

Not sure I totally believe that, but USSF has to be bleeding money right now so who knows.

For the MLS programs in the DA it means nothing. They are fine. For the clubs in the DA programs that are not MLS programs, some will survive but many will disappear. Many of those clubs can't charge elite pricing without elite programming so their business models are toast

With USSF having zero income right now and large expenses you are going to see a lot of things getting cut over the next few months. I don't know if this story is true or not but I can see it happening as the DA is just low hanging fruit in the big picture of things USSF needs to concern itself with.

This is all opinion and conjecture. Read it with a grain or two of salt:

The heavily-circulating rumor that the U.S. Soccer Federation is planning to terminate the entire U.S. Soccer Development Academy is causing a lot of panic and uncertainty in an already turbulent period.

A Federation source says theseason is “likely” to be canceled soon due to the repercussions of the COVID-19 crisis, though no announcements are imminent over Easter weekend. The DA’s long-term fate? That appears to be up in the air at the moment.

So to be clear, we are not reporting this as fact, but it is a very hot rumor that gets the mind turning.

Even if it proves to just be the end of the 2019-20 season, should a full shutdown be on the table at all, taking advantage of this extensive layoff during the global pandemic of COVID-19 has actually opened up an opportunity to shutter the leagues in the absolutely least disruptive way possible.

Why would they be considering such a drastic move? If true, some of the factors are sure to be:

The Girls DA has never taken hold as the nation’s most elite league, and has recently been losing very strong clubs back to ECNL. Having talent split between two leagues is definitely inhibiting development of the most elite players, and there is no solution in sight for getting the best players and clubs in the same environments anytime soon. This would solve that problem overnight.

The Boys DA has become more of a story of Major League Soccer run, cost-free academies and then the best of the rest for years. While the top boys’ talent plays in the DA if there’s a club near their homes, every year U.S. Soccer makes some type of adjustments to the competition structure and schedule. And MLS clubs have long been rumored to be on the verge of staging a break-a-away league all their own anyway.

Cost – U.S. Soccer spends a around $9 Million on the DA’s per year, and gets little but grief for most of their investments. With an all new management team at the top of the Federation, and the very real likelihood of an 8-figure financial settlement on the way with the U.S. Women’s National Team, cutting bait now would remove a lot of distractions and sure up what may become much-needed cash in the coming years, before the expected windfalls of the 2026 World Cup.

Equality – Reference the issues with the Girls DA lagging far behind the boys’ version in their efforts to consolidate talent. These are modern times, and U.S. Soccer has struggled greatly in the court of public opinion over their treatment of the women’s game. I cannot imagine a world where U.S. Soccer could shut down the Girls DA and not do the same with the Boys. It has to be all or nothing if it’s indeed happening.

If U.S. Soccer is indeed planning this shutdown at any time in the next few years, it makes complete sense to jump at this “opportunity” to do so when the rest of the playing season is already unlikely to be possible. Announcing a shutdown now would give clubs and players five months to get all their teams, rosters and memberships in new leagues squared away without the annual free-for-all in players and team movement each May and June.

Imagine a world where U.S. Soccer waited until after the National Finals in July to announce a closure of the leagues. By July, nearly all of the following season’s rosters are set for next year.

Announcing the end anytime before the current competition year concluded would cause chaos among the families and clubs involved right in the final stretch. It would be hard to get teams to show up with full rosters at the final rounds of “away” league games, let alone get on airplanes for playoffs, once their hearts and minds are looking to the future.

HOWEVER, they should not announce anything until they have a LOT of answers, and have coordinated with leadership at their member clubs. Hopefully, if this is happening, they will have arranged agreements with other leagues like ECNL or experienced operators of large leagues like USL to immediately offer a similar format and open doors to membership for all the clubs that want it.

All in all, if U.S. Soccer was going to do this at all in the next few years, the timing will never be better.

I mean the timing would never be better as long as you didn’t care at all for all the players who committed to the league and who will now lose their showcase platform, have no idea what league they’ll be in, all while we are quarantined and unable to look or trial for a new team. Thanks for thinking of the kids again, suits.

I figured you were, my apologies. IMO it is always about the suits (elites) Which is why the long serving politicians in both parties are useless and filthy scumbags. Whatever makes them richer and more powerful. It is never about “the children” in reality, except when they are trying to convince you too pay more taxes, fees, mandatory insurance, etc ... List of political families who have screwed us, the Bush’s, the Clinton’s, the Cheney’s, the Biden’s, the Mc’Cain’s, the Pelosi’s. You get my point, even with that said do not believe Bernie either, he had to drop out because after the virus even he knows there will be no more $$$ to give away without a depression. His kind will have to wait !!

In your list of politicians you forgot to mention the real crook in this mess and that is Humpty Trumpty. Let's face it, Humpty Trumpty wants that bail out money. Why? because Humpty Trumpty owns hotels and no one is going to hotels. The bail out blocked Humpty Trumpty from getting any of the money so what did Humpty Trumpty do? He fired the over-sight person.

It must be humiliating to be a republican and to rank on a democrat shows how clueless you really are. If we really had a leader this [****] would have been addressed back in early January instead of it being called a hoax by a hoax of a president, Humpty Trumpty.

OK. Kool-aid drinker, Humpty Trumpty is not part of the machine. Which is why the long term core Republicans did not support him ( or do you not understand that?) Maybe some day you will switch your brand or maybe even you can drink the new 3rd party Kook-aid some day. Good luck to you

Let's get back on track folks. I would like to hear from the non MLS clubs in the boys or girls DA programs to see if the DA has contacted them directly with an update on what is really going to happen. I am thinking of clubs like BWG, Met Oval and NY Soccer Club. These clubs are probably starting to think about opening up registration for teams next season so what happens if the DA announces the shutdown of the DA program. Their entire program is thrown in chaos. I know some clubs in the ECNL are already getting flooded with emails and calls to secure spots on ECNL rosters for next season. DA players that are not locked into a MLS rosters need to know what DA is going to do. If the DA program is really about the kids they have to make an announcement early next week.
