April 2, 2020
Dear Club Leadership, Coaches and Team Managers:
We hope you and your families are well and staying healthy. Your health and safety remain our priority and we continue to keep the best interests of our entire soccer community in mind as we explore options to return to the field.
In light of the recent guidelines announced by the federal government, EDP Soccer will suspend ALL League activities through April 30, 2020. This includes: US Youth Soccer Conferences managed by EDP, EDP Spring League Premier and Championship Levels, EDP Futures Spring League and Festivals and EDP Youth Champions Cup.
In the recent announcement cancelling the 2020 National Championship and Regional Championships, US Youth Soccer encouraged local competition: “Our focus should be on those local leagues to bring our communities back together through sport, not distracted by a national tournament,” said Skip Gilbert, USYS CEO. Gilbert added, “2020 must be about coming back together, not just winning.”
In support of US Youth Soccer’s recommendations, EDP Soccer is revising its schedules for ALL league play to extend into late Spring and Summer.
For your reference, here are three potential schedules, all with different start dates, which are being considered at this time.
In response to our member club and team inquiries we’ve received, please view the updated 2020 EDP Soccer Tournament Calendar, which includes new and existing tournament dates, as well as backup dates for any events impacted by COVID-19.
Until our next communication, stay safe.
Yours in Soccer,
Steve Shilling
CEO, EDP Soccer |

Interesting how they are looking to reschedule the whole league. All of that starts well before June and there are stay-at-home orders in place. I don't know where these folks are coming from.

You must not have read it very closely. The final scenario begins 6/6, however, it only includes 6 fixtures. I am not as familiar with EDP, however, does a typical season have more than 7 fixtures? Will they partially refund money? All of these scenarios have to provide for a week or three of practice before throwing the kids on the field for competitions. If my supposition is correct, the only scenario that seems plausible to me is the final one (6/6). Then it's only a six game season. Seems like these leagues are doing everything in their power to make sure their clubs have a claim to withhold payment to the clubs' parents.

I guess the millions of people who lost their jobs should not complain. Sports in 2020 not looking good. 2021 looks more realistic and hopefully people get their jobs back so they can have a glimmer of hope.

EDP is all about the money. There spring tournament which was suppose to take place in march was cancelled. NO refunds!!!!! They are giving everyone a $500 credit to another tournament and they are keeping the other $500!!! They say the need to money to cover costs. What about all the families who are out of work right now? Im sure they could use the money they paid for the kids to play in the tournament. EDP is not about the kids, Its about making money. So I have no confidence in EDP

HEre's the answer I keep receiving. We expect to play the season in some form or fashion. It will likely be during the summer months, but they will cobble something together. If they offer a product for the $$ you've already tendered, their legal defense is much more sound. Not a surefire winner, but they have attempted to mitigate your damages, which the court will look fondly upon. The response obviously be that I signed up for a league in the spring, not the summer. I have travel plans, camps for kids etc which prohibit me from participating in the changed course of action....

I have travel plans, camps for kids etc which prohibit me from participating in the changed course of action.... First of all, what fields are going to available this Summer? Not the schools and probably not the parks. You are correct saying what you signed up for. Gary Grossman is all about money. I doubt any of you will see a penny. My suggestion is to not play in his leagues this Fall IF there is going to be a Fall league with available school and county fields. This "credit" crap is just that. It is pure 100% American BS. No refund should equal not playing in his league or his nonsense tournaments or Curtis' crappy training. Notice how BOTN stopped promoting NYCSL based on all the crap and complaints and lousy customer service. If any of you are having a problem contacting Gary Grossman just email me. I have ALL his contact numbers, addresses and all the cell phones in his family. To take advantage of people's money when many are out of work is heartless. I don't think publishing all his personal contact info is something he wants to see, but if you know where to look (I did) you will find all this info available on the web.
