The current U16 team moves up to the age group. It is a new age group they are awarded for next year, not a new team.

Maybe it makes sense to change the title of this thread to something like
What is the future of the LISC and former DA.

Depending what DA Clubs get added to this new league, then this can be a very competitive league of LISC. It all depends if clubs like Penn FUSION and NEFC are not picked up by ECNL. The bigger issue is having college showcases that attract the same caliber of colleges that attended DA Events. The DA events were equal to ECNL for turnout of quality and quantity of coaches.

Well, I would imagine college coach travel and funds will be down next year, so it may be tough to get large turnouts at non ECNL showcases.

Also, there were 4 SW clubs just added to ECNL as ECRL clubs only. Do there first teams go there? If so, that is a major blow to GAL.

If you have aspirations of your child playing college ball you have better be in the ECNL program by the time your kid turns 13/14 . Go where the college coaches are going to watch. Don’t speculate where they’re going to be. Let history guide you in right direction. Presently history says ECNL is where you should be. Then it’s your choice which is in a club you want to be with.

I have been to ECNL and DA showcases way more recruits at DA showcases. Although there wont be anymore DA showcases before ECNL and DA how did kids get recruited lol. Remember if your kid is that good they will go D1. Playing in a top league helps but doesn’t guarantee anything.

I disagree completely. Only a (ECNL) club DOC would say this. 13 year olds are in 7/8 grade. You do not need to be worrying about showcases at that point and remember that tons of kids still find their college via ID camps. I would say if you're shooting for a top 20 program, right now you want to be ECNL by fresh/soph year but for the vast majority of kids, many of whom do go on to play D1, you dont need to stress this immediately.

GOOD PLAYERS are GOOD PLAYERS!. ECNL gets looks but coaches find nice players all over and lets be really clear, LI sends very few if any players to top soccer college programs. Conratulations to all girls that play at the nest level but please stop drinking the kool Aid!

Below are last years ECNL colleges-Manhattan College, Molloy College,Navy,SUNY Cortland,Stonybrook University ,Iona College,Scranton University,Mollo College,Fairfield University,Mercy College, Scranton University

Time to call you on your BS! First and foremost congratulations to every player that is going on to be student/athletes at any college division. Now, go on the websites of SUSA, EM & Fury and look at the commitments for 2019 & 2020. You left off quite a few players colleges.

Explain? The only team not coming back out of the 3 is Penn Fusion and to be honest they are another middle of the road team. All the LISC teams can hang with Penn Fusion which is interesting bc if LISC were to move to ECNL you would talk about how weak of a club they are. Now a club on the same level is a powerhouse? Please!!

I dont need to convince myself, I watched all the games played. Keep pumping out your chest thinking there is only one path to play college soccer. Your daughter will end up at the same level as mine.. trust me. The 1 or 2% in the area may sniff a top 20 D1 school but you keep telling yourself your money invested is coming back in a full ride!! I am sure even Larry will laugh at you for that one.

Btw.. is there a TOP NCAA conference your daughter has to play in? I mean if she is not in the top one, why even go to college and play?
