The New York Red Bulls earned a 1-1 road draw against Real Salt Lake on Saturday afternoon at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah.

Cristian Casseres Jr. put New York ahead, and the Red Bulls were able to hang on for a draw after conceding a stoppage time goal.

Casseres gave New York an early lead with a low strike from outside the box in the 13th minute. Casseres was able to collect an attempted clearance from an RSL defender off the chest, take a touch and shoot low inside the near post.

The goal was Casseres' first of the MLS season, and the fifth of his MLS career.

Offseason goalkeeper acquisition David Jensen made two saves in his second appearance for New York.

Real Salt Lake appeared to tie the match in the 70th minute, but a headed goal from Douglas Martinez was overturned due to a handball.

RSL did draw even in stoppage time with a headed goal from forward Damir Kreilach.

Head coach Chris Armas raised his career record to 27-17-10 overall and 9-11-7 on the road. Armas is three wins away from cracking New York's top-five all-time MLS wins list.

New York is 17-17-11 all-time in the month of March. New York has scored 65 goals in March and allowed 62.

New York's Aaron Long (hamstring, precautionary) and Ryan Meara (groin) both missed the match. Both players are considered day-to-day.

New York's road trip continues next week, with the club's first visit to Minnesota's Allianz Field. Kickoff against Minnesota United FC is set for Sunday, March 15 at 7 p.m. ET, with coverage on FS1, Fox Deportes and Red Bulls Radio.
