BOTN received the email below from a very unhappy parent who feels ripped off by Slick and his Futsal establishment along with Eric Schmidt. BOTN is of the understanding this is headed to court as the summons to appear in Small Claims Court has been obtained. Below is the complaint:

We signed contract with PFA in April 2019, program was supposed to begin right away, with practices Spring/Summer/Fall/Winter and leagues in Summer/Winter as well as tournaments.

Months went by, nothing started, we kept in contact with Eric Schmidt who said it would start eventually and they would be changing the start date of the contract. We had a few practices which we were told were free, where there were basically 3 girls that attended.

Come December we finally start practice, but it's not a team practice, it's a practice where we are playing with other boys/girls who signed up for a clinic. We went to a "free" tournament where players/parents had to pay $10 each and then the first week of league games but we didn't have an actual team yet, they were just mixed together.

On December 20th we get an email with rosters and schedules for the league. My daughter was placed on a team with at least 2 girls who were not part of the full time PFA contract, and no goalie which we were told was being worked on. Also, that team, which consisted of 2006 GDA players, was placed in a division playing against 2008 boys/girls. Due to these factors, my daughter, who loves futsal, decided she didn't want to move forward with the team so we made the decision to withdraw.

We emailed on 1/2/20 that we were withdrawing from the team, as we returned from vacation on 12/31/19.

At that point I had several back and forth emails/text messages/phone calls with both Paul and Eric. Paul basically told me we were pulling her because we think she is better than she is, nice right. Then Eric told us he never said sessions were free, which we have in writing. Ultimately they want to charge us $300 for 12 sessions they claim she attended, and send him an email saying we received all services were happy with the services provided by PFA, which I absolutely refuse to do.

I can’t believe this guy continues there. Get rid of him already! Paul Riley is no good for the club or more importantly the kids!

PFA is a joke. Mybsons team joins “a league” to play futsal as an 2005 born plsyer. Wevplsy boys and girls teams of all ages 2002, boys and girls, 2003 boys and girl teams etc...so didnt join a league its expensive pick up indoor soccer.

ES is coaching teams at the same time he is supposed to be running “the league.”

how do they also use referees who wear an offical USSF uniform and there own trainers/staff members wearing PFA sweatshirts. that's a joke in my mind.

I don't like the other league that Albertson has in Hofstra-[****] but at least that's more organized. how you call yourself a league when you have like 9 PFA teams playing.

Am I missing something 12 sessions for $300 is $25 a session seems reasonable. If you don’t like them don’t sign up again

We see you ES. Nice attempt at trying to spin this around. It’s not just about the money but what was promised and what the family got. Like many over the past few years they got PT BARNUMED. good for them to call PR and company out and not get bullied!

Ah yes, last April when ES gave his stupid futsal presentation during the parent meeting. Paul claiming he had teams lined up for his national futsal league and was preparing a press release. Idiot parents bitching and moaning how it's another $1300 on top of everything, yet some go and sign up because ES convinces the kid how much better they got after futsal. Too bad he couldn't teach them how to see an open lane 20 yards down a full field. Then no practices, no summer league. Typical bait and switch. Only way these two idiots stop conniving people is for parents to stop paying him.

PFA will be gone soon as there is no income coming in and Riley bit off more than he can chew with that lease. It has already been announced that Eric is going back to coaching the girls teams in Albertson for this Spring season so I guess that means he will not be at the indoor facility full time anymore.

You've got to be kidding. Hope it's for the U littles, that's where he belongs. The guy doesn't belong anywhere near an 11v11 field. He's a self proclaimed better futsal coach. Run far away folks, this is not going to end well for you dealing with these two liars.

Isn’t that insane when this whole Futsal master plan was announced at the Albertson fury and FC fury da meetings last year he actually said he was a much better Futsal coach than soccer coach. Boy you have to think before you speak since this is now coming back to bite him.
Folks, I don’t think you can just blame him for the disorganization and problems with this Futsal master plan, It’s PR. He is the boss and owner of PFA. ES works for PR. At the end of the day The buck stops at Riley
Trouble is PR Has put guys in positions of management, trainers who shouldn’t be left in charge.

When ES ran the DA winter Futsal program last year he played games with kids heads as well. Not asking some of the kids on the da teams to play with their team while offering younger players to play up who he thought were special. then when those he asked to play didn’t want to he tried to convince the players left out to play Not on on their actual team to fill on for other teams .
What a mess.

Sometimes What goes around comes around.

If the games are assigned by a ussf assignor then yes they can wear the uniform. Anything else no referee should be in uniform!!

Court date? Seriously? If anything this is small claims court. OK, this mom wins and gets her $2,000. WOO HOO ! You think this is going to hurt Riley, or break his back account. He lives in a $2,000,000 house on the water. This one parent will get her money back while he deposits the funds from the other 99 parents who are paying him the same $2,000 (i'm sure much more than that).

But if it goes to court and the family wins, it will be on public record. Also, don’t think Riley would hire a lawyer, not worth it. I I would imagine , he tries to settle so no additional publicity or precedent. On the other hand, he may go thru with it thinking if he gives an inch, the floodgates will open and many other families will do the same thing.
He yields his perceived power over numerous families every year and doesn’t want a trend to start
At this point why would any families want to be there.
If their kid is truly a star, there are better, other options. If not a star, there are better, other options.

Exactly. What are the benefits of staying there? There are so many more options.
