Playing 2 years up and winning is pretty good but when that happens with SUSA at their bubble it usually means they needed a team to bump up to fill a gap in a weak division. Nice for the boys but don't get too excited over winning a winter tournament at SUSA Bubble

"Playing up" doesn't mean anything because everybody is playing up. I hear it all the time. 'Oh, our team lost because they were playing up" or "yeah, my son didn't score because he is playing up against bigger kids". You have kids that are playing up in division 4 or 5, this equates to playing against mediocre teams/

The U14 team is DH plus Barca Pro NY stars. Nothing to be ashamed of losing to Barca Pro NY. Everyone does.

Dix Hills had several teams there. Kozy coached several teams and Olando also coached the u13's.

I am not surprised that this coach Kozy is being condemned by many folks on this thread. He is not a good fit to be a coach for 9 year olds in regards to their social and emotional development. I saw him in action when my son played his team. They’re a few strong players on the team, but I would not be surprised if they eventually leave or stop playing soccer due to their coach negative reinforcement. His team shuts down on him mentally when his negative approach becomes over bearing. It’s very embarrassing to see parents accept this kind coaching behavior towards their child.

If you understood the emotional and mental development of child athletes in any way, shape or form, you would understand what people dislike about Kozy. I have seen him coach U9 kids in addition to U14 kids. Merely knowing something about soccer is not enough to justify his methods which are abusive, period. Never had a child play against him so I'm not a sore loser or sour grapes, but I know training and child development and he aint anywhere near where he should be in those terms. Another year or two and all these kids will move on from his antics.

We have been with him for 2 years and have had nothing but positive experiences. Dix Hills FAM.

I would imagine that not everyone will have a negative experience so if it works out for your child then far be it for me to try to persuade you otherwise. That is something you will decide on your own. However, the fact remains that the man has been asked to leave several clubs because of his methods and ways, which again I will say are abusive.

That would be a nice trip for sightseeing but if parents think European academies are gonna line up to see American U10 teams play, save your $$$$$!!! Use your $5k+ elsewhere!!

Agree doesn't go far enough. This is a soccer hand job. I wonder if the person has family over there and gets a free trip to visit because you know the parents are paying for the coach and/or trainer to go. Unbelievable, truly astounding!!

What a pathetic response
the ones condemning him are the same ones who got beat by him!!!!! go figure, sore and sour losers.

You’re missing the point! I don’t care if my son’s team loses to anyone. I care more about his mental well being, and that he is having fun playing soccer, baseball, basketball, and running track. Additionally he is in an actual environment that I truly believe is a safe haven.

My son is extremely athletic and fast, and can be on any team of our choice. However, we’re very careful about the adult/mentor figures in his life. That’s the point! An abusive coaching approach is not tough love!

sure it is...it takes a lot of mental toughness on the young athlete to use the criticism as motivation...most kids i'm sure are not there, most adults as well...mostly snowflakes really, very delicate.
