Let me guess, your sons team is?

These two teams are the best around, for now. One just won NYCSL and the other won Brooklyn Tournament where NYSC , Bwg, BARCA, and DUSC all entered. FS beat Dix Hills 3-0 and Dix Hills beat FS 6-1. They both beat everyone else in LI/Queens and its not even close.

The OM have 3 teams in the 2010 age group so fielding a 9v9 or 11v11 team should not be an issue

Orange Machine will put a great team when going 9v9 and 11x11 in a few years. There is so much talent on all three teams they are interchangeable. A big issue is they tend to keep players in one position. This makes players unhappy if you only get to play defense. Those players will not stay around.

In a few years and probably sooner the Orange Machine will go the way of the Rug Rats. The club and the coaching do not have the chops to compete at a higher level, nor does the club or coaching group have the pathway to the higher level leagues, which at the very best will keep them within the recreational realm. That said, which one of your parents has already started shopping the team or their child around?

Lets not forget to mention that at this age...U little, there is No guarantee that a dominating team barely out of diapers will cont to be dominant at U13 and Older....Puberty kicks in and effects all kids differently ...some kids get bigger, stronger, faster, smarter and other kids don't develop physically and mentally as other kids....next thing you know, that U13 team is not playing as well as when they were U10....as a parent you start asking the questions...why?

Valid point.

However this usually happens with “kick and run” teams. This team plays soccer the right way.

Orange Machine identifies their opponents best player and reaches out to them after games to poach. It happens on all three teams.

The right way - passing , moving, not kicking it and running. They play good soccer. Hate them all you want but cant hate their soccer.

Its true. Orange Machine has 3 excellent teams. Look it up. The Black team has all wins in NYCSL D2 and LIJSL Champion. They will be head and shoulders above the rest of NY at 9v9 when these teams merge.

Read the latest posts:
1 person saying the players will leave.
The next person saying the Orange Machine steals players.

Forget about past and future. What’s happening right now? They are the ones to watch.

Enjoy the U8-U10 wins....because they all go away really quickly.

The move from a 50-55 yard field to an 80 yard field for U11 is a tremendous hurdle for smaller/town clubs.

There are larger resourced U10 teams currently that have 30-40 kids rostered across 2-3 teams. While those teams may not have won a ton of games at U9 and U10, those resources start to show up at U11 - the Barcas, East Coasts, Gotschees, Valencias, Stony Brooks that seem to be outclassed the last two years will all of a sudden show up and be 10x better (and bigger) than they have been because they've been figuring out which 14-16 kids, of the 40 they have at U10, they're going to roster at U11 when the field and rosters expand.

Easy to field a dynasty on a 7v7 field.

I will be willing to bet my 401k that the two teams at the top of U10 will not be the top 2 teams in U11. It never happens that way. They'll both be middle of the pack in U11 and it will continue to go south from there - not enough resources at either club to maintain.

Does anyone know why Kozy is not allowed to coach NYCSL games right now?

While I agree with the post, you lost credibility by mentioning Valencia, East Coast and Stony Brook. #SUSASTRONG will be the team to beat. #BARCABEST as well. SB, Valencia and East Coast are not in same stratosphere at any older age group.

I was using that group as an example - as they all have 20-40 kids at U10 and have more resources than a small club like Dix Hills. I never said any one of them would be better than the other.

Post 2 - “some clubs have 2 or 3 teams in this age group. Orange machine cant keep up”.

So this is where all the soccer geniuses are hiding?

FS Orange Machine have some talented players. If only the parents could act as mature as their nine year sons, then the team would not be under such scrutiny.

With parents acting in such an immature manner and with apparently huge ego's there is no way they will stay together...its only a matter of time.

Maybe they will start to show some sportsmanship....wishful thinking I know...I guess they don't they realize they are hurting their children by acting in such a manner...the coach must be clueless as well to allow such behavior.

Hilarious response. I think a struck a nerve as the truth hurts. Must be a FS parent.

Their response validated my post.

I guess the game is the highlight of their life. Rather sad.

Enjoy it while it lasts!
