Oakwood is a top GDA team. There is a lot of disparity between the top GDA teams and the middle; the middle and the bottom. I'm sure the same is true in ECNL.

Based on the game reports submitted (looks like just over half as of 1 PM Monday), at least four other clubs nationally show suspended players.

Nice try Nick FULL-OF-IT!
That doesn’t condone Fury behavior. 2 wrongs don’t make a right.
Your hanky panky doesn’t go over well here On these boards.

Very true. Hysterical reading all the whiners holding their tablets of commandments, like little bitches. Then turning around and getting off on teenage girls getting suspended. Who gives a f&$@ already????? I guess way too many people with way too much time on their hands

I once cheated at monopoly. I must repent.

Problem is they deflected blame by naming coaches and clubs as rats. But truth be told they have been complaining about this stuff for months. They kept pushing others anonymous posters to call the DA and complain. Because they didn't have the balls to do it themselves. Stand up for your rules by standing up.

If the trainers already live here in our established it’s a lot easier than coming in from out of town or out of the country and setting up a home. I don’t see it changing, do you?

Unfortunately NO. Generally speaking the clubs “business model” is to treat the coaches/trainers as “Agents” rather than employees which means they have no health insurance nor other benefits that employees would have with for profit or not for profit. Being paid by the hour means they have to not only coach 2-3 teams but have to generate secondary income either with private training or other means. There is no way they can afford to have an affordable income to live on LI if they also have to support a family. If clubs invested in coaches with supporting them getting coaching licenses, some sort of income stability and maybe even health care then they can adequately promote there clubs/teams and maybe players will show loyalty to that specific club instead of moving from club to club. Too much uncertainty with the clubs over the pool of players that leads to a general lack of transparency.

Clubs can't stay in business that way. The price they'd have to charge families and still make a decent profit would chase away customers. Costs to participate in youth soccer are already way too high and players are dropping out (partly) because of it ( participation in youth soccer is down 15% in just 3 years). Besides, it's how the entire coach labor market operates. Sure it would differentiate one club from the pack, but again at too high a price for customers. About the only way you make a living coaching is at the college level (and even then as a head coach).

One way we can improve coaching quality is if USSF substantially lowered the absurdly high cost of getting higher licensure. They are sitting on a cash stockpile of over $150M. Getting more highly trained coaches out there benefits the US game in the long run. But everyone - leagues and clubs - only care about their short term bottom line. As the sport's governing body USSF could make a difference.

The GDA in theory should be the most competitive league, 100%. Unfortunately, clubs like OW and NYSC and STA (all NPL) are now the tops clubs, where as it should of been PDA, STARS, NYCFC/WCFC, that is all you need to know, too..

In the battle between DA & ECNL it has lead to the dilution of ECNL as well. Since DA began the dilution of talent of both leagues is quite clear. You now have ECNL rosters filled with NPL/EDP players who would never had made these rosters pre DA. The drop in the talent pool both with athleticism as well as technical skills level is quite clear. With the above logic the fact that ECNL has added an NPL Club like SUSA is all you need to know about ECNL as well. SUSA never would have been added without Fury leaving and that’s all you need to know. Just speaking the truth.

That the big issue top players on LONG Island in each age should be playing together, money creates the issues and kids split up in a few programs like ALBY, SUSA, and EM. Put the top few players on those clubs together and can compete nationally with anyone.

Well, if you put all the same players from any geographic area on the same team, they would be much better as well. And, then your LI players would be the same middling group....

Maybe a new club can be created by those players families not for profit since this families know who they are and I’m sure the top kids want to play with other top kids.
Then you can control the costs etc a club by the people, for the people.

Maybe maybe not. Playing in that situation would at least be closer to being worth all that time and money.

The GDA should of been rolled-out as 12-16 geographical centers throughout the country, players would try-out, and if accepted would train supplementarily 6/8 times a year, say a weekend of 2 games per day, the best 30/50 of those would all be sent to National Training camp in California or Florida. The program should of been low-cost, but very exclusive, and ALLLLL the leagues would have to accept USSF as lead organization. However, this world is only in the Watchman universe....

So how did that Fury Talent Center ID work out? Sounds like you're actually losing players rather than gaining.

I have a better idea, let the clubs bid for the services of the players. Easy to identify the top players, alot harder to identify the clubs that have the best intetests if the player in mind.

BID? Bid for players? The Long Island Professional Youth Soccer Club? www.lipysc.com
