I guess since this is a new thread, does it make sense for someone to summarize very briefly all the shenanigans from the other thread so there is a starting point

I guess since this is a new thread, does it make sense for someone to summarize very briefly all the shenanigans from the other thread so there is a starting point A poster in the other suggested we re-title and this was the best way to do it. You can summarize or not. The poster was correct to rename this since the other thread was the announcement of Riley losing his other GDA which was tied to the Albertson Club, and now that Albertson SC is free of the GDA the focus turned to Riley's other GDA, the FC Fury where all the mishegas, forfeits, and suspensions are going on.

So, kids were suspended. For how long?
It sounds as if some are still playing HS. What does that mean for their future in DA?

Forfeits already recorded for the U16 and U17 games. Parents can take their gas savings and donate it to Paul to pay for the fines.

You have to call out FC Fury on this nonsense but the real problem lies at the steps of US Soccer. The DA staff in Chicago has to be the most incompetent bunch in youth soccer. The parents that paid FC Fury money should be suing US Soccer since they gave this cesspool of a program the good housekeeping seal of approval. FC Fury AND US Soccer have committed a fraud on these parents and kids.

What idiot would sign their kid up and pay Thousands and thousands of dollars for a league that dictates whether or not their child is allowed to play the game they love, with their best friends from high school?

Why would anyone believe that you could play h.s ball because of some BS waiver!! Pick up the phone or email someone at the GDA to confirm and make sure your child is good to go. Many Parents that have joined the DA were greedy and arrogant from the start. Now your child will pay for that arrogance. Don’t be cute and then cry about it.

FC Fury AND US Soccer have committed a fraud on these parents and kids. Yes Us soccer is incompetent. Alby/Fury never should have been a part of the system. But even if they were a well run organization do you really expect them to police every player in the system? Everyone in the area knows about the club and Paul. The club telling this "go ahead and play HS AND for us the same time. No problem!" should have set off alarm bells. The rules is very well known and can be verified in two seconds on line. Even if you get a legit waiver (which these are not) you are not allowed to do HS and GDA at the same time. But families ignored it all because it gave them what they wanted. Greedy as someone said - I want it all and I'm going to have it. In the process they stupidly put their kids at greater risk of overuse injuries and burnout, all while ticking off players on the HS and club teams. Rather than rant about getting "ratted out" they should self reflect on how they got to this place and what their values are.

Ones who would rather play with their friends outside of HS, since they see their HS friends all day. And, ones who talk to college scouts and tell them to avoid HS and play in ECNL or GDA.

Can someone tell me if these rules to other sports during the DA season as well since it runs all year- You cite burnout and injuries. Does this not happen in Cross Country, Track, volleyball, Basketball, and Lacrosse to name a few? Anyone have any clarity on this?

What your missing the point about is that we were told it was ok register for the DA and play high school soccer at the same time. My daughter and I initially did not even think that playing both was an option. But when the people in charge told us it was an option we said ok, why not do them both. To those of you that come on here and say karma and all those other negative things against kids, you should be ashamed. I hope you never make a mistake in your child's future. But worse I hope you don't have so many people wishing you bad. We are an honest family who were only doing what we believed was reasonable based on the information we had received.

HS boxscores and articles in Newsday continue to full of Fury names of girls who were playing both sides. Have to assume that they were among the suspended and it appears that they have made a choice to continue with HS ball. Will Fury ever be able to field the older teams again?

Understood and agreed. However, I would counter that doing both is a bad decision outright. There is such a thing as “too much” and “over use”. So while understandable to claim being misled or misinformed, the ultimate decision and responsibility lies with the parents, especially through early to mid teenage years. I believe that’s what’s behind most of what people are squawking about, they just don’t know how to articulate it or in some cases are just miserable people realizing their child’s “career” is coming to an end and this is an easy way to vent.

Congratulations Paul, you have single handedly destroyed the Albertson Girls program, and destroyed whatever reputation FC Fury had. You stole all the older girls goups from Albertson with the help of your minion who benefited by having her daughter play DA.
You lost Boys DA. You lost Girls NPL. You lost Girls ECNL. You created a second DA club and lost that after year one. You are on the verge of losing Fury DA. You lied to parents about losing ECNL at the last minute. You lied to parents about still having two DA clubs up until mid June. You lied to people about having great fields for games. You lie to people about rest, yet tell them to sign up for futsal. You lie about your college commitment process (how many 03's and 02's are still not committed?) You lied about not sharing ECNL and DA trainers
All because you are a liar and a cheat.
Might be time to take your gig full time to NC before anyone down there gets wind of your shenanigans.

This guy Riley is a piece of work. Now he's on Twitter whining and crying to the DA about how they need to change their rules, how they're not about player development, and all about a business.
Someone needs to call him out on his BS. He sold us the "dream" of playing DA over ECNL, and how DA was the future, and just last year told everyone he didn't like HS soccer because there's no development.
Now that he told all his players to play HS against DA rules, he's got player suspensions, forfeits, and fines. So because he lied to his players and parents, he wants to start blaming the DA. He knew the DA rules when he gave up ECNL!
He's either schizo, a liar, or trying to save his name - or a combo of all.
How you guys can keep giving money is beyond insane, what are you hanging on to????

While I appreciate your statement and I do not wish ill on anyone involved, even though these are anonymous posts, no one has indicated who said doing both was OK. Have you at least called the DA to tell them who gave you this bad information so that they can take action against whomever is misleading so many people?

I've got no dog in this fight, but for the people liking or retweeting his post they should be ashamed of themselves. Everything I've read on this forum leads me to believe that this Riley guy is no good. Whether he encouraged kids to play HS, looked the other way, whatever...He knew what was going on and it would hurt those kids, the kids on the teams that didn't play HS and the club overall. Now you see the outside agendas of clubs like MatchFit (ECNL) looking to score points with the ECNL by retweeting Riley's nonsense. I feel bad for all these kids. And if the club encouraged it all the kids should get refunds and the DA should boot the entire club ASAP. Let these kids join other teams NOW before the Spring season gets started.

I understand. They told you what you wanted to hear and initially, a lot of families were questioning N.J. joe you could do both. It did not compute to my family but they must have made you comfortable with the decision. Fury is very good at selling their snake oil.
