The point isn’t winning or losing. It’s development, if you haven’t noticed the US has been doing a very poor job at developing World Class players. We have a very high participation rate and not a very good National Team.

Every other part of the world they don’t keep score or standings until 12/13 years old. The focus is on development and having fun.

For some reason here in the US we would rather scream and yell at 7-10 year old kids and pressure them to win so much that they stop enjoying playing the game. Maybe if everyone took a step back and thought more about their kids happiness and development it would be more enjoyable for everyone(especially kids).

Not true they keep score in other countries as well. Kids keep score from the youngest ages. Sometimes fun is seeing your team at the top of a table. This seems more like a participation medal for everyone, which is great because you keep getting those throughout your life.

I think OP is correct they don’t keep score at the younger ages.

You are so clueless, It’s not about participation trophies. It’s about having a curriculum to develop players. Part of every curriculum you will find in the world a main focus is young kids having fun without pressure of winning. It’s so they develop creativity and composure. What winning at all costs creates is college soccer.

If you go back and look at the older posts you will read that Gary grossman the guy who runs the nycsl leagues in order to get Barca into his league and stop EDP from getting Barca, which they never wanted, was to make a deal with the Barca folks including his friend Bart Nason they couldn't refuse.

Grossman gave the player database to barca allowing them to target specific age groups from his member clubs and their player registration hurting all of his member clubs. His disloyalty to his members was wrong on many levels and hurt some of his biggest member clubs including Atletico, EM, SUSA. and every other member club.

It is all about and only about money at nycsl.

Wow, so Grossman gave Barca the player database for NYCFC CDL? Atletico is not in the league and EM wasn't until this fall - how did he manage to get those databases?

The poster did not say that the database was given to NYCFC. The database was given to Barca when the club first started out. How do you think all those players suddenly showed up enmasse for tryouts? It appears that if a player was registered with US Club through NYCSL that, the NYCSL registered player database was given to Barca. The "tell" was how Barca targeted specific age groups and that would only be possible as only the registration player database would have birthdates and full contact info. I confronted Grossman on this issue and Grossman through Mike Gould under the bus suggesting it was Gould who gave Barca the player database.

Oh, I misread NYCFC instead of NYCSL. Are Grossman and Gould still in charge at NYCSL? Wondering if this sort of thing is still going on and if so, can anyone put a stop to it?

Serious question, but is each team supposed to be working on a specific tactic each week in the game?

In the World Cup winning country of France there is no league and no table until u13. No scores reporter or recorded.

What about baseball, basketball, hockey, girls soccer and almost every other sport available in the US? All keep scores and standings form a young age in the US and apparently we must be doing something right in those sports. Players need to act like winning does not matter until you are in high school? Children know how to keep score at a very early age. How come the argument is not that there are so many other choices than soccer in the United States and many quality athletes choose something else than soccer. There is a complete grassroots change in youth sports in participation levels over the last 20 years. Peewee football is declining every year and soccer has been picking up numbers. However, it it is still not at the levels of many other countries that have very limited youth sports options and resources.

If it does not offend all those who don't want to keep score. What tournaments are you going to? Auburndale is bringing 2008 and 2009 to Parsippany

I might care where Auburndale is playing. They traditionally have a strong program. Better question; why be a d!ck?

That's great last name is Kenny

You are also the guy poaching kids specifically from one club. So I am not holding you out as some kind of ethical hero. I do appreciate when people put their names to a post though.

Poaching? Are you freaking kidding me here? Every club out there is doing the same thing. Atletico kids were offered to play for free and parents being visited where they work. Get the F#ck out of here.

Sundevil, I'm going to jump in right now since you appear to be a newbie.

CJ is a woman not a man, and that is why among other reasons she said you don't know her.

Now to the issue of poaching. I can understand how upsetting it is to find out a coach, parent, or trainer called or approached your player, BUT, it isn't poaching if your player wants to move, and an organization or club posts openings. In this particular case, Atletico is doing to Barca, what Barca did to Atletico, SUSA, and every town team including Auburndale.

Your club, Auburndale has been a wannabe club for years and years. To the club's credit they have partnered and partnered, tried and tried with very, very limited if any profit, but they are still a good solid recreational town club.

Now, if you want to know more about me, ask Mike Garcia. We had dinner back in June. I never heard from him again cool
