I saw this a few games last year with Seaside now Valencia and Gold Coast bring their clubs flags to away games. To me when you visit another teams field you are a guest and you should respect their place. I think these flags are going to cause problems, I had one of our parents say they wanted to throw the flag down and stomp on it. I can only imagine the middle aged out of shape fight that may take place over these things. Cringing that it would happen and a video show up on the nightly news

I think your reading too much into it. Who cares what the other team brings. Your objective is to beat that team on your home field and send their flag saluting idiot parents back from where they came from. haha and valencia??? pleasee one big act but a fake club with no real ties to the real valencia

I say not only bring a flag, but let’s kick it up a notch and have the team lap the field after a win and then plant it in the middle of the pitch

US Experts on the sport? I didn't think we had any. Oh yeah, maybe its the dumba** US chief scout who said Messi lacks soccer IQ and is very average when playing for Argentina. LMAO!!!

its a dumb_ss question...we all see opposing jerseys and baseball hats at Yankee games, knicks, nets, mets, giants and jets games all the time.

Waving flags and making noise is way more fun that listening to parents scream bloody murder every time they perceive a foul or little Timmy gets knocked down.

There is no conflict whatsoever. It isn't even against league rules unless specifically stated.
Keep quiet. Enjoy the game. You are way overthinking this.
Any grown up who has a problem with a team flag and considers starting a fight or destroying other people's property should probably just stay home.

Let’s be clear here-Flags don’t cause problems, People DO! The idea that a visiting team should not bring their flags or display their colors just shows how unsporting and rude people can be. Bringing your flags or colors to a visiting team has nothing to do with being “disrespectful” to the home team. This is youth soccer, not two warring nations being incited to violence because the other faction shows it’s “battle flag”.
This is what is wrong with youth soccer today and what referees like myself have to deal with in today’s game.
Let’s stay focused on the fact that this is supposed to be fun for the players no matter what level they play.

Nice in theory. I was at a high school game yesterday where the visiting coach complained that the student body was cheering. Nothing obnoxious nothing rude, They were warned once to stop. They did not stop and 30 kids were thrown out by their own school districts security. It was absolutely the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen. I can’t believe that 11th and 12th graders playing a sport are concerned with the cheering that is going on at an opponents home field. I feel like throwing up when I think that I pay $20,000 in school taxes for that to happen to the student body. As a country we are soft which bears reason why we cannot compete in the global soccer market.

That is really upsetting! I would love to see the student body at every school filling the stands. I would love to hear them banging drums and chanting songs and having fun. Can you imagine a college basketball game where the school has to ask the students to stop cheering too loud. Soft parents, soft coach and a soft generation of kids overall. In fact I feel school administration should push students to support one another. Cheer on their teams! I am a believer in getting all involved! I would average in an A for a student in their worst class if they come out and support their classmates before I throw them out!

Sadly most school districts seem to focused on having everything a perfect environment for even the visiting team. Once the emotion is taken out of sports it becomes a boring event. Playing for HS used to be about school spirit, now its treated as a ceromomy. People wonder why school spirit is at an all time low. Golf clapping only,

This is the strangest thing I have ever heard. Maybe next time someone should videotape the incident to document what actually happened and release it to the news media to shine a light on the violation of the first amendment! Are you sure the cheering was not unsporting or rude? How can the hometeam fans not allowed to cheer?
