Brooklyn, NY---Recently announced by Brooklyn College Director of Athletics, Bruce Filosa, Sebastian Zieba has been named Head Coach of the BC Women's Soccer program. Zieba becomes only the second Head Coach in the program's relatively short history. He replaces former Head Coach, Patrick Horne, who compiled a 50-65-6 overall record and guided the team to back-to-back CUNYAC titles and NCAA Tournament appearances since the program's inception in 2012 through the 2018 Season.

"We are very happy to have Sebastian aboard to lead our program. He brings a wealth of experience from the club level to the collegiate level and we're confident that the program will flourish under his guidance," Filosa would comment.

Coach Zieba brings over ten years experience to his first collegiate head coaching position. Currently, he serves as Academy Director and Director of Coaching for FC South Shore Elite Soccer Academy located in Long Island, NY developing elite level players and preparing players to compete at the highest levels of college and professional soccer.

Prior to FC South Shore Elite, Zieba spent six years coaching at the prestigious BW Gottschee Academy in Queens, NY. At BW Gottschee, Zieba coached the club's highest level academy boys' and girls' teams, guiding the squads to a number of tournament and league championships.

Along with his extensive academy and club resume, Coach Zieba served as an Assistant Coach for the Christ the King Regional High School girls' varsity soccer program for the last seven years. He would also assist with the boys' varsity program while at the Middle Village school.

No stranger to the college game, Coach Zieba served as an Assistant Coach for the St. Joseph's College Brooklyn men's program during the 2016 and 2017 seasons.

"All my years coaching with FC SESA, BW Gottschee, Christ the King , and St Joseph's have been great, but I'm really excited to begin a new era at Brooklyn College," Zieba explains on the recent appointment. "The culture and the history that Brooklyn has is unlike any other place and I am ready to get on the pitch right away."

Coach Zieba holds a United States Soccer Federation License and a diploma for Director of Coaching from National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
He is a native New Yorker and a huge fan of Liverpool FC and the US Woman's Soccer national team.
