Agreed. It really makes no sense. Its not apples and apples.

If it does make sense, then the players in the WNBA should receive salaries comparable to the men playing in the NBA, no?

Well I don’t think it’s just about equal pay. Not sure what’s happening now but in the past the USWNT were paid less per diem, and stayed in less expensive accommodations than the USMNT. So whether you want to subsidize costs or use a pure market model to determine compensation in this country it could be a hard sell and a PR nightmare when you consider what the Women’s team has accomplished vs the Men’s team.
The question is does the Federation have the money to improve their compensation?
