New Hyde Park is in the only Long Island team at all playing EDP in any division for 2008 year. I thought many more teams would join EDP?

Not to disrespect any of the teams but I expected Aurbendale and World Class to be competing against higher level clubs than the ones listed. It seems like their agenda is to beat up teams just to gage interest from other players to join their clubs. If that’s the case, they’re doing a disservice to their current players, those players should be competing against higher level clubs. NPL basically combined NYCSL Premier with the Metro Division and put in World Class there. Gary Grossman did a great job selling NPL to clubs.

My sources tell me that the NPL is now mostly B & C teams from these clubs. It has been reported and I believe correctly so, that NPL in our area is not a strong league. If Auburndale put their best teams into NPL then those teams are not "A" quality. As far as World Class, those are not their top teams.
Yes, Gary Grossman did do a great a job selling NPL and all his other leagues. Many clubs I have spoken with are well aware of Grossman and his empty promises and less than truthful diatribe. US Club is well aware of Grossman, and in fact, tool the NJ Alliance League away from his being the administrator because the clubs involved complained. For Grossman it is only the Ka-ching, ka-ching and nothing more.

How did they fall off the map? Those teams are still there and are still competitive. They aren’t like Albertson east meadow Susa or even new Hyde park where they are continuously finding new and better players from other teams around Long Island.

You missed Aurbendale.. they do a great job recruiting. Well let’s see.. Fury is playing Pre GDA, EM Pre ECNL, SUSA Pre ECNL, NHP EDP, and Aurbendale NPL...what are the other clubs doing? They’re still in NYCSL or LIJSL. Committed players who are training two or three days a week, do all the extra personal training, participate in winter leagues and tournaments want to contend against serious players. A ton of local clubs don’t do the extra work that these clubs are doing. They don’t have the commitment. The next couple of years you’ll see a ton of movement. Top players will look to team up with other top players. Where is SURF playing? Nassau seems to be pretty spread apart hence why SUSA out east is killing it!

Please stop, too much laughing! Good luck having a team there after 12 years old, unless you're happy being at the intramural level. Recruiting? Who, CYO players?

“NPL” is glorified NYCSL, nothing really to write home about there. GDA and ECNL are really the top programs.

Aurbendale has a great team with great trainers and coaches. The team has enough talent to last for a while. ECNL and GDA is not for everyone! It’s a ton of travel and if your kid is not on the top 11 list don’t expect your player to play much.
