OK, I'll bite. What's the surprise going to be? It's typically Commack or Brentwood. Commack are in the final of the Hempstead summer league tomorrow, beat some pretty good teams to get there. .

Summer League? That’s a joke right? Half and half. You might imagine that but some of the teams have been pretty serious. Some scramble to put eleven on the field, others come with a full roster and both coaches and are treating it as preseason training. 24 HS teams, most teams were intense about it, especially when it came to play offs which were Northport, Commack, Huntington, North Babylon, then Uniondale, Westbury, Terriers and Garden City. They were all dead-on serious. Final is Westbury v Commack. The real summer joke league is Super Y

Commack isn’t Division 1 because of lower enrollment numbers has nothing to do with level of team.

Commack isn’t Division 1 because of lower enrollment numbers has nothing to do with level of team. True that the division is based on enrollment, but they don’t have a strong team this year. Very weak senior group, but a lot of young talent (Juniors and sophomores).

I wouldn't rule Amityville or Hills West and Hills East out. Sleeper team can be Garden City, Carey or Uniondale

Oceanside is a joke. No quality players Like most towns, the great players from Oceanside are in DA, forbidden from playing HS ball. The quality will not be there this year, colleges are not even interested in looking at the HS anymore. Even on the private side, seeing players opting out of the "great" Chaminade...who are a shadow of what they once were, losing to public schools like Syosset, and getting throttled by out of state teams like Dom Bosco in NJ.

Funny you mention Chaminade. They all think its the bet school and only path to great colleges. I doubt many of the graduates went on to play in D1 programs or prestigious Universities. Binghamton or Hofstra are decent schools but any student from the public schools system can make it there. Ya' could've saved yourself +50k over the four years.

Amityville has some big expectations coming into this season as reigning champs, but no doubt that they will have a great season

What is the difference among the conferences? A1, A2, A3, A4, AA1. Is one stronger than the others?

believe it or not, some wealthy parents do so for St. Anthony's Why would they do that when tuition is about $10,500 a year and it’s not that difficult a school to get into?
