No, and Long Island can't support 3 GDA clubs. Long Island SC has made some good coaching moves, and they are truly working hard and smart to grow the club and make it very successful.

Any word on LISC getting a U17 age group for this year? Makes sense with players now looking for a home.

I am of the understanding that LISC has petitioned the GDA to add other age groups and are waiting for a decision.

I wonder why US Soccer took away the other age groups from LISC in the first place. They should have helped them out, to maintain what was already started. Adding the second Albertson club was a waste of time and money for everyone. If US Soccer truly cares about developing players and having more than one GDA club in LI (which already is unnecessary), they should have stepped in and helped out LISC. Instead, they just made players flock to whatever looked appealing. Yes I know they were losing games, but if losing games is the criteria for losing age groups, there would be far less GDA clubs nationwide. Adding and removing clubs after only a year or so since inception seems rushed and poorly managed.

I stand by the fact the all if NYE needs ONE GDA team. ONE. Those 30 players forego playing school ball and commit to hopefully one day playing in a World Cup. There are plenty of other quality options for everyone else.

World cup. Holy smokes your nuts?

BOTN has obtained a copy of the FC Fury contract. Attached is a contract for Fury outlining $4355 in expenses. From what I understand, that may not include tournament expenses including such things as coach’s expenses.

LISC is $3245

The FC Fury contract is attached to this post and users can download a copy if they want it, or they can easily read it here in this post.

Funny that the contract includes "Referee Fee's" [SIC] which is already covered by US soccer.

http://www.ussoccerda.com/faq

What fees are associated with being an Academy club?

There are no fees for a club to participate in any of the age groups (U-12 through U-18/19) in the Academy program, aside from $50 per player and $50 per coach registration fee. U.S. Soccer covers all referee fees and event fees for the U-13 through U-18/19 age groups. The Academy does have a referee fee for the U-12 age group, this fee covers all regualr season games. Clubs are responsible for all of their travel and administrative expenses.

Wow, your 2k deep before getting out if July or lacing up a cleat. The add kits, tournaments, monthly $200+ , etc etc?????? It’s one thing if the club was exclusive to top players or developing some talent, but 89% of the teams and players are Cocoa Puffs

Big of them to give you 48 hours to decide and set up your payments. Notice how it also doesn't specify # trainings per week (not all clubs obey the 4/week mandate) or how many tournaments there will be?

Definitely does not include tournaments or per diem. That's another $500 for every tourney to cover coach's pay, their hotel, their airfare, along with players hotels. They wont let players stay with parents because then they can't inflate that fee. Parents are nuts for falling for this.

WOW !!! Honestly I would pay that much if Paul Riley himself was coaching the team every day for the 11 months. But paying that for JV coaches, who none really should be coaching DA as they do not have the requisite USSF "B" license is hilarious. When are parents gonna wake up. These coaches did a crap job and lost the Boys DA, these same coaches did a crap job and the lost girls ECNL, last year they did another crap job and lost a girls DA franchise. Now you want $5,000+ to be trained/coached by these bunch of misfits?

Whoa, whoa, whoa - are you certain of this? So far everyone we've talked to on FC Alby got acceptances to FC Fury. What age group?

They already have Albertson EDP teams. Are these players being added to the existing teams or are New/additional teams being added?

I asked how many teams for a particular age group and was told 1 - the acceptance letter says DA - not EDP.

There are EDP teams, so curious if any of the existing FC Alby players are being moved to the EDP team?

Well by signing the contract you are agreeing to let "the PRSS staff to train/coach my child to the
best of their ability". Perhaps Cocoa Puffs is all they are capable of developing.

Do the math - even with all the departures they can't take everyone. Some will be cut.

LI soccer has been on the decline in the past 3 years. Every ECNL & DA club has shown a significant drop in talent as well as depth of talent on there teams. Inadequate training is across the board with mismanagement from all these clubs as well. The vast majority of these players are into themselves rather than being part of a team. The skill levels of these players are not improving and most players are stagnant by U16. The truth is in order for my daughter to get ready in her senior year I had to privately hire trainers for conditioning as well as her skill and technical training and she did not play for Albertson. Don’t take my word for it talk to other parents from these other clubs.
