Yes they lost to a very good world class team and tied for first in there league. This team really should quit soccer.

No big deal. NPL will take any team from any club anytime. That's why NPL locally is bs. It is just another way for the league and the clubs to make money.

What other clubs are in NPL? What’s the difference between all these leagues? NPL, EDP, GDA, ECNL? So many options!

It is if a club has the teams that can compete in EDP.

Larry, your post would indicate that EDP is a quality league, yet some posters on this site keep bashing it as being low level, which is it? Quality or garbage?

It is not only quality, but has a total national footprint vis the USYSA. Their office and support staff is huge. EDP, formerly MAPS has been around for 30 years. The bashing is coming from the NYCSL and especially John C. as their league(s) are greatly threatened by EDP and its affiliations and is causing there to be a superior competitor (EDP) to compare with.

Prior to EDP coming onto Long Island and NYC, the NYCSL was compared to LIJSL and in that scenario came out on top. Now with EDP, that is no longer the case.

Why is Aurbendale in NPL then? They were clearly the best team in NYCSL.

Larry, so looking at this from the girls side, where do you rank EDP now as compared to ECNL, ECRL, GDA, etc.?

ECRL is an unknown at this time...let's revisit that league next year at this time.

Real or not ECNL & GDA on paper are above EDP...on paper. Whether it holds true in actual game reality needs to be researched, but public opinion and advertising spin will keep them at the top no matter the actual results.

Why is that surprising? Auburndale has made more changes over the years than I changed my underwear!!

Auburndale has always been a wannabe club. They have tried everything and everyone and still no golden ring. Why are they in NPL? They are there because they asked to be or were sold on the merits of NPL by Grossman and/or Curtis who just needs to keep filling all these leagues and their spinoffs (club v club, team v team, final 4, etc...) because it is income. It is that simple. Today any team can play NPL. Just ask and ye shall be received :-)

I think ECRL is a pure money grabber from ENCL, EM is pulling this nonsense with Farmingdale and heard they didn’t have enuff kids there for the 2007 group and pulled kids from there B team to form a ECRL team. Heard the tryouts were poor and had no skilled kids there. But EM sold this crap to parents and presto they now have a ECRL team that will lose to most decent teams that just play in normal leagues. Great marketing strategy by ENCL as there will always be dumb parents thinking there kid is ready for that next level, pure non sense. Save ur money!!

Larry what’s the best advice you have for this age group who’s entering U12 next season? It’ll will be nice to hear some advice from an outsider. Is Alberston the way to go? EM? LISC? What club has the best platform right now for my kid to have the most competitive exposure in 3 years, when she’ll be u15?

Larry does not have any direct advice on where any team or player should play. That is up to the parents and child. BOTN just reports the good, the bad, and the ugly so you can make that call.
