What are you talking about? Regardless of the outcome FC Fury are going to San Diego to play in the DA Playoffs. Fury have qualified . End of story.

Fury U15 have not qualified for the playoffs. [/quote]

They are on the bubble. There are still games left across the DA , I believe for two more weeks, to be played so they'll have to sit tight until all is said and done. Which sucks because if the team is falling apart as this board claims then why would a family waste all that money to go to CA for just a showcase- especially if they are bench players? Not sure if they have those or not, but what a financial burden to sit and wait until the last minute to find out where you stand with the playoffs and if you will even be able to field a team to go.

What are you talking about? Half your team is pulling out next season. Good luck fielding a team.

if Paul had any honesty about him and was honest about what he is fielding for next season, people would stay. The problem is his dishonesty, no transparency, and balatant regard for rules. Can't work with someone I don't trust.

I think you meant NO regard for rules...
as well as not delivering on what they promise and supposed to provide. How do they expect families to honor their commitment when he and his coaches don’t honor theirs.

Again, piling on truths and non-truths about one club in which the negativity goes beyond what is true. I can say the same for SUSA & EMSC over the years where they all made promises knowing the were not telling you all the facts. How many years did SUSA tell families that they were getting ECNL and fell short and you had long standing families show the loyalty and commitment and stayed and then when it happened the club then went out to bring in players (ECNL players) to fill there rosters and those long standing families were either sent to lower teams or sat on the bench. How about being told that rosters were being limited and then find out the rosters on in the 20’s and your kid is told which game or showcase tournament they will dress for or not to even show up for certain games.
With EMSC also filled with plenty of broken promises and kids leaving out of frustration no different than Albertson.
Face it folks, soccer is broken on the island with too much dysfunction and teams lacking the depth to challenge better clubs when they play teams from different regions. Just not good enough.

yes, but we were talking about specifc nameless clubs, oh wait they are really one and the same. Others clubs not doing right may also be the case but the discussion wasn't about them,. Lets not spin this around.

There is no spinning but rather if you want to talk the truth then talk the truth why the quality of soccer and the training of players have drastically dropped on LI. How the teams are so diluted and the depth of talent is drastically reduced you have teams playing ECNL/GDA that have rosters with up to 50% who where not good enough to make those teams 3 years ago and now you have parents complaining about broken promises and 1 club in particular is taking all the hits.

Soccer on LI has lost credibility not just 1 club. That is why so many of the best athletes are playing Lacrosse now. When you say 50% of a team is leaving, where are they going. What great team are they moving to on LI? In this time period every club has there issues. The quality and technical abilities of players have drastically dropped in the last 3 years along with the athletic ability to compete at showcase tournaments vs other stronger regions. There is your truth.

Now this is the $1,000,000 question-

Why iare there threads dedicated to GDA and NOT for ECNL?
And the follow up- why are there so many posts about GDA and a minimum about ECNL.

THAT SHOULD TELL YOU ALL THERE IS TO KNOW.

That’s not why. Lacrosse doesn’t involve as much skill and easier since kids are more comfortable with their hands than feet plus more scoring. Rules are weird though. Also not as competitive to get a scholarship

Pretty clear your daughter doesn't play lacrosse and has never tried it. Go outside with your daughter and see how comfortable she looks using her hands with a lacrosse stick the results won't be pretty you'll have a new appreciation for the sport. Soccer is the first sport kids play because its easier for them to kick a ball and run then take a lacrosse stick and try catching a hard rubber ball while moving full speed.

Same. It was relief when she stopped LAX after 8th grade to focus on soccer

Lax is a very difficult sport that requires great athletic ability as well as great hand-eye coordination. The best soccer players make an easier transition to the sport. Any parent who thinks that anyone can play LAX really has no understanding of the sport and to think that it is easier to get a scholarship then you need to think again. Soccer is a sport that involves kicking a ball and even the most unathletic, uncoordinated person can do that and find a level of play that suits them. That is the beauty of soccer. With LAX that will not work because of the need to concentrate not only on your speed but your ability to use your hand and the quick choices you must make using hand/eye coordination. That is why the better soccer players with higher athletic ability can make the transition.

I won't debate the difficulty level of either sport as they both require certain skill sets, but it is hands down waaaaaaasy easier to obtain a lax scholarship than it is soccer, at least in this area. Take a look at commit lists from local high schools. For every 8-10 lax scholarships, there's 1 soccer and it isn't because the kids are better athletes-strictly a numbers game. Our region has club & school lax, others don't...
