I believe you have answered all your own questions.

"Has the MLS concluded that developing Americans is more expensive and harder to do than just grabbing good young foreign players from futbol cultures and would love to play in the US?"

Yes, it has concluded that.

"why are the majority of college scholarships still going to foreign players if the DA has been so successful?"

Because castoffs from Barcelona's academy (yes, there really are college D1 players who used to be at La Masia) and other top clubs Euro are actually better players than American players.

We are still way behind--that is a fact.

This guy ^ knows what he's talking about. If MLS clubs weren't restricted by immigration law I think they'd take on even more international players. As it is half the draft every year is international. More foreign players are taking college roster spots for a reason - they help coaches win games.

All of this after over ten years of BDA. Sure the men's side has improved, but all we're doing is trying to play catchup while the rest of the world also continues to move forward.

You do realize that last week NYCFC 05 played without their entire starting 11 as they were all invited to the US YNT Camp. Club thought it was a good opportunity to get 2006 AND 2007’s some play against an older team. Don’t know what happened against RB as that is a surprising result but before you start referencing your big win last week, you may want to keep that in mind. If the club even took MO seriously, they would have rescheduled the game.

MO 4 NYCFC 2 (2-0 after 10 minutes, maybe was better if NYCFC asked to reschedule the game because was NO Game)

NYRB 4 MO 5

You can keep talking!! Vamoooos

I heard NYCFC didn’t reschedule the game with Met Oval because they didn’t want the “real” ‘05 team to lose to them like the Red Bulls. Arrogance and stupidity are not attractive traits.

Please provide insight on the rules or a DA player? Is there such thing as a “guest” player for DA for RedBulls, NYCFC or Metoval? This player during winter break is playing on DA team however is still playing on his heritage club if he’s free on the weekend in League, EDP tourneys, and NY state competitions. Is this allowed by the individual DA club or would his heritage club forfeit every game he’s participated in? Sorry I’m not familiar with the proper ruling and if it’s against rules how can this be reported. TIA

DA rules allow for part time players but they must either be rostered on a lower level club team (B team) or on the roster of an "affiliate" club. The definite of affiliate is fairly lose. Most other leagues don't prohibit playing in a different league; they only prohibit you playing on two teams in the same league. So sorry, if you think a team has a ringer in state cup or EDP playoffs chances are there's no rules against it. Trying to rat out a kid is a scum move.
